Drop-off at Palermo Airport. They advise to get to the airport two hours before departure, though for national flights one hour and a half is enough. But as I will be driving from Taormina, a long way from the airport, it is advisable to consider two full hours, so in case we are late - traffic jam, accident, etc. - we will have some extra time. Anyway, while in Cefalu, I will check if the road to the airport is fine, as well as if the departure time is confirmed.

I have been running this tour for 10 years and, being an economist, you will get some fundamental insights to understand the evolution of the city, its culture and its people.

Ballarò is the largest and most ancient in Palermo, of Arab origins: where colors and smells and the vendors' screams fill in the air. Founded by the Arab-Muslims when they ruled over Sicily, it looks like a suk, the typical Arab market.

Capo lies behind the largest opera house in Italy, Teatro Massimo. Carini Gate, which opens along the ancient city walls, salutes everybody entering this lively market.

We will enjoy a street food tasting in Palermo, a special pizza at a trattoria in the mountains, and the best Sicilian cannoli in Piana degli Albanesi, a town also in the mountains.

We will conclude the day with a non-structured wine tasting at one of the best wine bars in Palermo.

All of your senses will be delighted with this tour to one of the best wineries near Palermo! I have been running wine tours for 10 years and, being myself an economist who loves to promote local products, you will get to know all the best Sicilian wines and the food to be paired with.

First of all you will enjoy with me the Sicilian countryside, with its ever-changing views, and we will talk about Sicilian wines. The winery lies in a hilly area, where they cultivate the vineyards with organic methodologies that you will get to know.

After the visit to the production area here come the wines: different but delicious wines (from 3 to 5 according to the winery), accompanied by tasty home-made nibbles prepared from local ingredients, many of which home-grown, with full explanation in English of the characteristics, history and philosophy behind any wine.

You will then be able to buy and collect some of the wines or, if you prefer, to get them delivered at home!
