I hold a degree in architecture from the University of Palermo. After my graduation, I moved to the United States where I attended a course in Interior Design at the New York School of Visual Arts. After many years in Boston and New York where I worked for several architectural firms, I have returned to Sicily, my native land, and now lead cultural tours in Palermo and beyond. My walks are infused with my interests in architecture and the history of arts. I am a licensed guide leading private tours for small groups willing to really understand the places they visit. I am very passionate about my island, I share my knowledge with travellers by arranging cultural tours with an emphasis on history, art, archaeology, architecture, gastronomy, nature, or a blend of the above. I have helped hundreds of travellers discover and understand the masterpieces left by nature and the different civilizations that have made Sicily their home during the last three millennia. My aim isn't to merely 'inform' travellers about social and historical facts, my tours are interactive and stimulating physically and mentally. I plan them with great care and adjust them continuously. These are few itinerary ideas. Every tour with me is fully customized, personalized to your interests. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

I am an architect who has a combined love for art and her land. I offer historical-artistic and cultural traditions knowledge. Palermo's Arab-Norman architectural treasures, which were recently included on the world heritage list, are a living testimony of the convergence of Western and Eastern architectural and decorative traditions, Arabic, Byzantine and Latin. We will visit the old town, including the Palatine Chapel, the Cathedral, the 4 Corners, the Pretoria Fountain and the Church of Santa Maria dell'ammiraglio (La Martorana). We will also see the picturesque open-air food market with its incredible Arabic atmosphere! In the afternoon we continue with Monreale, located 9 miles outside Palermo on a hill. It has one of the best cathedrals in all Italy and a panoramic view of the bay and the Conca D'Oro.
We had an amazing day with Cetty! She is so knowledgeable and we learned so much about the history of Palermo. Cetty was very intuitive to the group and made sure we saw everything we were interested in. Even before meeting her, Cetty gave us dinner recommendations that were much appreciated. Highly recommend booking a tour with Cetty, you won't regret it!
Our tour guide Cetty, was excellent. We enjoyed spending the full day tour the Monreal and the Palatine Chapel, Norman Palace and the Martonara. Not only did she enable us to fully appreciate these sites by giving us invaluable historical information, but as we walked around Palermo we gained new insights about the city's history and vibe. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable, she was very aware of our needs and comfort all throughout the day making our tour a very rewarding day. We enjoyed tremendously our stay in Sicily and Cetty definitely contributed to our wonderful vacation.
Such a great tour. Cetty is knowledgable and was responsive to our questions and tailored the tour to our specific interests. Just what we wanted!
Cetty was wonderful! She was very knowledgeable about cultural and historical events as they related to the architectural sites and neighborhoods. It’s evident she loves her city and history. It was great to learn about the intermingling of cultures and people over the centuries which created the richness of Palermo. We highly recommend her. Her restaurant recommendations were excellent.
Cetty was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and competent in discussing the architecture, history, and art in four amazing churches in Palermo and Montreal. We had a wonderful day and learned so much from her. Highly recommend.
Fabulous guide
Our Arab-Norman tour covers: - The Palazzo Reale, residence of Conte Ruggero, as well as the Palatine Chapel, which holds spectacular mosaics of the 12th century; - The Cathedral of Palermo, which served as a fortress from early on (6th cent. ) and as a funeral temple for kings, their families, and archbishops; - Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio (also known as La Martorana), built in the 12th century during the Norman period, which preserve some faithful examples of Arabic architecture, albeit the latter owes its current appearance to additions made in the 16th century; - The picturesque open-air food market with its incredible Arabic atmosphere! The Cathedral of Monreale *Every tour with me is fully customized, personalized to your interests.
