Sicily with its very distinct almost tangible atmosphere, it can be sensual, fascinating and chaotic at the same time. In Sicily you can still hear the echoes of its oriental past, taste the best street food and drink the best wine. Start to imagine amazing landscape and cities that evoke architecture of the past. The walking tour includes Palermo's best historical artistic monument located in the city reflecting Norman Sicily's cultural complexity. The cathedral, Quattro Canti the octagonal square with four richly decorated and quite appealing façades, Pretoria fountain one of the most fascinating monuments of Palermo because of the nudity of the statues, the square became known as "Square of Shame". Piazza Bellini, this square is one of the most beautiful in the city; It is surrounded by three churches, la Martorana, San Cataldo, Santa Caterina.

Roberta provided a lot of interesting information on Palermo and took us to interesting historical sites. She was very engaging and has a great deal of information on the history of Palermo. We enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to future visitors.
Roberta was wonderful. The day of the tour Roberta met us at our meeting place and we began our tour. It was a very hot day but we got where we needed to go and saw the highlights of Palermo. She asked if there was anything inn particular that we’d like to see. I told her that my husband and I had been in Palermo in April and, the three days that we were there, the Mafia Museum was closed. When we arrived at the museum, it was open and we got a quick look. She also made time for me to run into a shop that I had been to in April and needed to pick up another gift. In the tour she pointed out a famous, must try gelato shop and, of course, we had to stop! Cappadonia did not disappoint! We all enjoyed our gelato very much! We ended our tour at the Royal Palace and one of the 17 City Gates. Roberta was able to call a taxi and we made it back to the ship with time to spare.

Roberta is very friendly and knowledgeable about historic Palermo. It was a treat to have her guide us and tell us things we could never have found on our own. A special treat was that she got us in to see the only Byzantine church in Palermo where my second cousin was the head priest for 20 years in the 60s and 70s. Finding family history was my goal. You won't be disappointed if you choose Roberta as your tour guide.
