Ancestral Full Day Tour from Palermo

Fantastic tour of my wife's family home town of Sant' Agita Dimiletello and then Cefalu'. Giorgio was a GREAT guide that helped find a cemetery and piece of land that her family once owned. Giorgio was so knowledgeable about Sicily in general and specifically about that area. Great tour and would highly recommend Giorgio as your guide.

This was the best day of my recent two week trip to Italy. Giorgio was great, these are the type of tours he enjoys doing and it shows. By good fortune, he had recently done a tour to my ancestors village so already had a great contact there that was incredibly gracious and showed us all around the town. We visited the street where my family lived, visited their parish church and the main church in the town where a gentlemen who worked in records took us into the back office where we found my Great Grandfather’s baptismal record. We even, with good fortune, met the Mayor :). Again, Giorgio was great, very knowledgeable about all things Sicily that we talked alot about on the drive there and back and underlining again, he cares about helping and making these day special. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Giorgio. He was prompt, professional and provided everything I requested and more. His command of English is excellent. He has tremendous knowledge of Sicilian history and geography. He made an appointment at City Hall to review our ancestors records since they are closed on certain weekdays. He also reserved a lunch for us at an Agriturismo that provided a tasting of all their delicious dishes. Lastly, he drove in a safe and comfortable manor.

Giorgio was absolutely fantastic and delivered a custom tour that exceeded our expectations. He arranged a visit to my wife’s grandmother’s birthplace and hometown in the hills outside of Palermo (a town that he had never visited). We arrived in town and although the town office was closed, Giorgio had arranged a meeting to review birth records. The folks in town provided official birth records for my wife’s grandmother but also her great grandmother. A bonus - they knew the address of grandmother’s birth and the street great grandmother lived. Giorgio coordinated this all! He is very personable and a safe and conscientious driver. His knowledge of Sicily is outstanding and my wife and I highly recommend Giorgio.

Our day with Giorgio C was even better than I hoped. We travelled to Lercara Friddi, where my husband's grandfather and father were born. The grandfather's death (Spanish Flu in 1918) cause the emigration to US. At the town hall, we found his father's birth record. After hearing about a few other 'family' stories, a local historian came along to find the house. It was gone, but his mother-in-law knew one of the people. We went to their house to chat. Remarkable! Bravo. We also visited the catacombs.

Giorgio arranged a wonderful tour to my Grandfather's birthplace. He had birth documents waiting at the town hall, but most important gave us important insights into the history of the city, as well as the entire region. I didn't just see my Grandfather's town, Giorgio enabled me to feel as thought I knew it. Walking down the street of my Grandfather's birth with my own granddaughter was the experience of a lifetime.
