I will pick you up at your hotel and we will visit the most important highlight in Palermo downtown, itinerary that we can customize together, depending on your taste and needs. After a quick lunch stop, we'll go visit also the medieval village of Monreale, built in 12th century, when the Norman ruler William II, known as William the Good, founded a Benedictine Monastery here. The Duomo, its abbey and its cloister was subject of one of my professional researches! Admire this UNESCO site, the beautiful mosaics (which is also the biggest medieval complex in the world), is a must do if you are planning to spend a few days in Palermo!
• Pick up at your Hotel. • Highlights of Palermo downtown: - We will visit the Teatro Massimo; - The arabic market 'il Capo'; - The Norman Cathedral; - We will walk through the oldest street of Palermo called Cassaro and we'll visit the Quattro Canti; - The two square of Piazza Pretoria and Piazza Bellini; - The byzantine churches of Martorana and San Cataldo. • Quick lunch. • 30 minutes driving by cab to Monreale, a historic hill-town just outside Palermo. It's a picturesque place most famous for the fine mosaics in the town's great Norman Cathedral. • We will visit the Cathedral of Monreale and the medieval Cloister. • Drop off at your Hotel.
