Traveling is my passion, as it is talking to people to share stories and emotions. After spending 10 years working and traveling across Europe I eventually decided to come back to Sicily. Why? With this full-day private guided tour you will experience the history and culture of Sicily in different areas. Erice, a Medieval village nestled atop a mountain, will make you plunge in Medieval history with a hint of a much more ancient past related to its original population: the Elymians. Holding a masters' degree in History of Economics, I will entertain you with stories about the local area related to two of the main products of this area: wine and salt. At the Marsala Lagoon, a unique area in Sicily for its windmills, you will feel and experience the culture of the salt, dating back to the Roman times, and understand why sea salt is still 'cultivated and harvested' like it used to be centuries ago. Before going back to Palermo we will stop at Borgo Parrini, a village with colorful buildings inspired by Gaudí, the famous Spanish architect who built the Cathedral of Barcelona.
What a fantastic day. Erice is a pretty little town and Giorgio showed us all the best views and filled us in on the history of the town, brought us us a great restaurant by the water. The Marsala Lagoons was a very interesting place and we were able to take the boat ride and tour the museum. Once again Giorgio brought us to a great restaurant to end the day!

Driving in Sicily is stressful, don't do it, work with Giorgio instead! He can help you plan your perfect Sicily vacation. Giorgio was flexible and responsive answering questions and making suggestions. He always has lovely restaurant recommendations; we stopped for a sweet treat and enjoyed a delicious and relaxing lunch in Erici . Try to schedule this excursion on a sunny day—the views at Erici will be best and the boat ride in Marsala is weather dependent.

We had 2 days of tours with Giorgio and we are glad that we did. In planning our tours, he listened to our interests and introduced ideas & places that we were not aware of. Giorgio's style of storytelling was wonderful. He was able to bring the history of Sicily to life for us. He integrated facts with drama & humour which made the tours both entertaining and educational. Day 1 we saw Marsala, lunch & wine tasting at a vineyard & a visit to Erice. Day 2 was the Markets in Palermo & lunch in the hills.
