Hello everyone and welcome to Palermo! My name is Mauro, I was born and raised in Palermo, and I truly love sharing the beauty, history, atmosphere, and soul of my city with travelers from all over the world. I am passionate about art, theatre, architecture, history, and everyday local life. I want you to truly experience Palermo, not simply visit it. I have been an official licensed Tour Guide in Sicily since 2014 and an official Trip Leader since 2010. I hold a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature from the University of Palermo and a Master’s degree from the University of Udine. I lead tours in English, German, Spanish, and Italian, working with travelers, luxury hotels, and international companies from all over the world.

Let’s mix culture, local flavors, and good company – the perfect way to experience Palermo! We’ll begin our experience by exploring the heart of Palermo: its vibrant historic center, with a focus on the city’s most iconic landmarks and stories. Then, as the golden light of late afternoon sets in, we’ll head to one of my favorite hidden spots — a very charming place — for a traditional aperitivo. Here, we’ll enjoy a tasting of typical Sicilian specialties paired with excellent local wine. It’s the perfect setting to relax, chat, and truly connect — not just with the city, but with each other. I believe this combination of sightseeing and shared moments creates a memorable and personal experience. By the end of the tour, you won’t just know Palermo better — you’ll have a friend here too. This experience is especially ideal during the summer, as we start in the cooler hours of the late afternoon.
What a lovely tour! Mauro is incredibly knowledgeable and took me on a wonderful tour of Palermo's city center. Afterwards, we had a little food tasting and aperitivo at a local restaurant. It was AMAZING! Throughout my time in Italy, I have been on many tours, and all of them have been wonderful, but my tour with Mauro in Palermo was by far the best. Make time to do this tour.
We took two tours from Mauro, the Old Town Food and Wine and Cefalu/Monreale tours. Mauro's passion and energy made us fall in love with his city! He explained the context of the city, not only of its history, but also of its present. He showed us little things in corners of the city we would not have discovered otherwise. He introduced us to local places, including for drinks and food. He really enriched our visit to Palermo!
City tour+ food and wine Tour. Mauro is totally charming, and has extensive knowledge of his city and it's history. His English is impeccable and he the made the tour enjoyable and fun, ending in a excellent authentic restaurant/wine/cocktail bar. He gave us some fantastic sightseeing and restaurant tips for our remaining couple of days. He went above and beyond to help and even messaged us the next evening to see if he could be of any further help. He is 1st Class.
First Part: Discovering the City (1.5 h) We’ll explore Palermo’s historic center with a relaxed walk through its most iconic spots: Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Piazza Bologni, the baroque Quattro Canti, the striking Fontana della Vergogna in Piazza Pretoria, and the Arab-Norman façades of Martorana and San Cataldo in Piazza Bellini. Itinerary may vary slightly depending on our meeting point – I always adapt it to offer the best experience! Second Part: Time to Relax! (1 h) We’ll then reach a beautiful, local spot for a traditional aperitivo, enjoying Sicilian specialties and wine. A perfect moment to relax, chat, and experience Palermo like a local!
