Having qualified as a Scottish Tourist Guide for the North Highlands in 2018, I am brimming full of enthusiasm for showing visitors the delights of the Highlands, where I have lived and travelled extensively since 1997. My previous role as a charity event fundraising manager introduced me to the iconic scenery of the Highlands and developed my people and communication skills. I am also a member of a local Tourist Guide Association, which keeps me connected with the latest talks and information available. Whether you have interests in Scottish Culture, ancient castles, the sometimes bloodied history, famous wildlife, awesome geology, stunning lochs and spectacular mountains or just want to chill in one of the most unique areas in the world, off the beaten track, I would be delighted to guide you, and help create what I hope will be one of your most enjoyable and entertaining holidays. In my comfortable, roomy and air conditioned Skoda Superb Plug In Hybrid, I can driver guide for up to 3/4 people. For groups of up to 8 people, I can hire an Arnold Clarke people carrier, for an additional fee. I can also provide walking tours in the beautiful city of Inverness, where I am fortunate to live, which could be part of a day's tour. I can meet you at your accommodation near Inverness or your cruise ship in Invergordon, Ullapool or Fort William. The Highlands have been home to some amazing people and I want to share their stories with you, sample the delights of what they eat and drink and give you a taste of life in the Highlands today. You can choose one of my advertised tours, which can be adapted, taking care with the timings, or I am happy to provide bespoke tours for any "must sees" or "must dos" that you have. Several of my tours are suitable or can be adapted for wheelchair users and I am happy to design bespoke tours to help visitors with other disabilities make the most of the Highlands. Your enjoyment is my aim and with my informal, friendly and sometimes humorous approach, I want to provide an unforgettable experience in this beautiful and fascinating area, which can take your breath away! I gained my Scottish Tourist Guide Association Green Badge for North Highlands from the University of the Highlands and Islands and I'm a member of the Highlands of Scotland Tour Guide Association (HOSTGA). I have full indemnity insurance as well as an Emergency First Aid Training certificate.

Our Inverness tour is steeped in tumultuous Jacobite history. Let me unpack the stories that led to Outlander. We'll visit a selection of sites mentioned and journey with Claire, Jamie, Brianna and Roger. The Fraser Clan dominated the area and we'll see their influence on the beautiful Heart of the Highlands, Inverness, with buildings that go back to the 1500s. What I love most about this tour is that it has some of my most favourite spots to visit which have so much emotion and spirituality linked to the past. What caused the Jacobite uprising? What was the role of Clan Fraser? Imagine Claire's story by touching a stone! There are so many sites to choose from that we can adapt this tour to your wishes. So, we can follow my suggestion or change the flavour, with more rural sites for example. You can even dress up as a character from Outlander in Grantown Museum or out on location!
Pick up at accommodation near Inverness or Invergordon port. - Drive to Clava Cairns, the ancient burial chambers , 15 minutes from Inverness - Then Culloden Battlefield, nearby, where history was made, for an hour and a half - On to splendid Culloden House Hotel, 10 minutes away, where the Jacobites camped before the battle - Into Inverness, 15 minutes away to visit The Hill of the Fairies, with its panoramic views - After lunch, we'll then park and walk around the iconic River Ness to visit St Mary's Church, featured in Dragonfly in Amber, the Old High Church, with its gruesome history, the old catholic church used as a hospital, the Fraser Town House built in the 1500s, the magnificent Town House, Inverness Castle, and the walk by the Ness that Roger and Brianna strolled along in Dragonfly in Amber. We'll stop for a coffee and aim to be back at accommodation for about 5. 30.
