I have worked in the Scottish tourist industry since leaving the regular army in 2005, I have a first class degree in Scottish History, and a Higher National Diploma in tourism & Leisure. Scotland is a diverse mixture of peoples with breathtaking landscapes and a history that changed the world!! I love nothing more than showing small groups around the many fascinating wonders of our country, "We Scots are a people who are bound to our ancestors. Though we cannot look into their eyes or hear their voices, we can walk in their footsteps and be where they once stood". Alan Fee provided us with a 5-star, wonderful day of exploration in and around Edinburgh. He was most responsive in adjusting our schedule to accommodate a cruise delay, and ensured that we were able to maximize the time we had available. His knowledge of Edinburgh, St. Andrews and Scotland, in general, enabled us to relax, enjoy, and learn about the areas, the people, the history, the culture, and all done with enthusiasm and humor. We thoroughly enjoyed our day, and couldn't recommend him more highly.

What a perfect day! Alan was super accommodating and adjusted our scheduled tour. My wife and father-in-law were wanting to see the highlands but that tour wasn't available when I was making last minute arrangements. When Alan arrived, it didn't take much for me to "convince" him to hang a left instead of a right... We didn't make it as high as the highlands simply because we didn't have enough time, but Alan took us as far as he could; and made a few stops along the way - highly recommended! Thanks Alan!

We asked to see places not inside Edinburgh proper, and Alan selected some great places for us. Not surprisingly, Rosslyn Chapel was our highlight, but the Culross Palace and history were fascinating. The Kelpies and canal on a sunny day were spectacular. And to close out with a photo-op of the 3 bridges was neat.

This gentleman is the best. He passed up family special dinner for us and took us to the fish and chips place ever. Execellent historic knowledge of Scotland. Highly Recommended.

Our Edinburgh and St Andrews tours with Alan Fee was A +. He was the consummate professional as we visited many sites -a church with artifacts dating far back Im history. His running commentary was filled with humorous anecdotes. He stayed with us at the must sees describing its importance as we went. The highlight was visiting St Andrews where we were able to take in its history as we walked along side the course. Photos, shopping and food tasting were the best. A Fabulous day indeed. Highly recommended.

Your Edinburgh tour itinerary

- Leaving Edinburgh we travel north to South Queensferry. The town is named after the 11th century Queen Margaret. - From there we drive over the Forth Road Bridge, giving us a spectacular view of one of Scotland's greatest man-made landmarks: the Forth Rail Bridge. - We now head towards one of Scotland's ancient Capitals, Dunfermline. Here we visit the ancient ruins of Dunfermline Abbey, the burial place of 'St Margaret, ' her husband King Malcolm Canmore and King Robert 'The' Bruce. - Our next stop in the little fishing village of Anstruther, full of old cobbled streets, take a walk along the seafront to the harbour or try the award winning 'best fish & chips in Britain'. - We then continue north to the medieval town of St Andrews, the home of golf and the Mecca for all golfers the Old Course. And we don't forget St Andrews University, the oldest university in Scotland and the third oldest university in the English-speaking world (following Oxford and Cambridge). Customization possible!
