Hello, my name is Sarah, I am a qualified Blue Badge tour guide in English and Italian, part of the Scottish Tourist Guides Association. My main passions are history, human beings and storytelling, that is why I became a tour guide. Being empathetic is a fundamental skill when working with people, that is why my tours are different according to the age, nationality, and needs of my customers. Delivering tours, for me, means also to have a good time and my enjoyment is infectious! Edinburgh is a vibrant jewel immersed in history and culture and it will be my pleasure to share it with you. My fortes are completely customised walking tours: from 3 hours to all day or days, I take people around and make them discover this marvellous city, through my eyes. All my tours can be customised to meet your personal interests and needs. If you want to discover Edinburgh's fascinating past and hear the stories of its people and its illustrious inhabitants, join me on this 3. 5-hour walking tour, exclusively created to make your experience unforgettable. If you are "Potterheads", please get in touch and it will be my pleasure to modify the route adding some magical "Harry Potter" spots to our tour. Edinburgh is a UNESCO World Heritage site, full of charming characters and marvelous buildings. Suitable for adults and children.
- Everything will start in front of John Knox House (or your hotel Lobby if close to the city center) from there will see where the world ended when Edinburgh was small and cramped, surrounded by city walls. - After that, we will walk up the Royal Mile up to St. Giles Cathedral and the site where the Scottish Parliament stood once. We will hear about the Reformation, Mary Queen of Scots, Charles I, and the Civil Wars. - We will walk up to the Lawnmarket and discover hidden fascinating courtyards and admire one of the oldest buildings in town. - Then we will reach the Castle Esplanade and from there we will see one of the most "magical" schools in the world (Harry Potter is involved, yes!). - We will walk down some steps and visit the Grassmarket then up to one of the most incredible graveyards that you will ever see: Greyfriars. - We will end the tour in the core of the Royal Mile.
