The Gothic quarter walking tour
Overview of your Barcelona tour
The Latin language was brought over by the Romans to Barcelona more than 2000 years ago. That's why we speak Spanish! :) We will travel back in time to the origins of Barcelona and also discover the remains of the splendorous Medieval capital this city was back in the Middle Ages. We will learn the reason why we call the city center the Gothic quarter Barcelona. Together, we will visit the interior of Barcelona's Cathedral, which dates back to the 14th century. (Please note: This is not Sagrada Familia). This 14th Century Cathedral is named after the Christian martir Saint Eulalia. Inside the Cathedral, an elevator will take us to the rooftop. From there, we will enjoy a 360º view over Barcelona.
Your Barcelona tour itinerary
- Meet at Hard Rock Cafe, Plaza de Catalunya. - Walking tour through the Gothic quarter Barcelona. - Places we will see: Las Ramblas, the Boqueria market, the 1st century Roman burial ground, Plaza de la Seu, Catedral de Barcelona, the remains of the Roman Temple of Augustus, King's square, Viceroy's palace, the Government buildings, Barcelona's townhall, etc. This is a walking tour. Private. Only for your party. We can addapt the walking to your needs. We can stop for a drink or at any shop you would like during the tour. Shoulders and knees must be covered to visit the Cathedral. The Cathedral is closed to visitors on Sundays. We will replace the cathedral for the underground ruins of the Roman city of Barcino. This tour is wheelchair accessible. Please wear comfortable shoes.
