Overview of your Barcelona tour
Montserrat is not only a very spectacular mountain from the geological point of view, it is also a holy mountain for the Christians and for my family, my grandfather applied to become a monk in Montserrat after my grandmother passed away. Montserrat houses a Benedictine Abbey founded in 1025 and the Sanctuary of our Lady of Montserrat. During this 6 hour tour We will explore the Abbey of Montserrat, we will venerate the miraculous black Madonna of Montserrat, we can either do an easy trekking to discover the pinnacles that compose the mountain of Montserrat and the old hermitages or visit the Art Museum. The highlight of our visit will be the Boy's Choir performance in the Basilica of the Abbey. Suggested Pick up time: 8, 30 am / End of the tour: 2, 30 pm Boy's Choir performances: -Monday through Thursday: 1 pm and 6, 45 pm -Fridays only at 1 pm -Saturday: no performance -Sundays: 11 am

What a wonderful tour and guide! He is so knowledgable and makes the history of Spain come alive. My granddaughters throughly enjoyed our trip to Monserrat. Caye is a native of Barcelona and his love of the city is evident. Having a degree in art history and the hospitality industry is an added bonus. Your Barcelona tour itinerary
-We suggest to start the tour at 8, 30 to get to Montserrat Abbey early in the morning before the big buses full of tourists get there. -If we get early we will be able to see and venerate the holy image of our lady of Montserrat skipping the long waiting line. -The 6 hour tour will also allow us plenty of time in Montserrat and see the boy's choir starting at 1 pm. -In case you are not interested in the above activities we can schedule the tour a bit later or in the afternoon. -8, 30 am, departure from Barcelona (Hotel, Airport or Cruise Ship Terminal) and drive to Montserrat Mountain (30 miles from Barcelona or 55 minutes). -Walking tour Basilica and Shrine of the Black Madonna (45 minutes) -Audiovisual show (15 minutes) -Walking tour around the Abbey (45 minutes) -Montserrat's Art Museum tour (45 minutes) -Easy trekking to enjoy the views and the forest. (45 minutes) -1 pm Boy's Choir at the Basilica (20 minutes) -2, 30 pm Arrival to Barcelona (Hotel, Airport or Cruise Terminal).
