Hello! My name is Manfredi. Originally from Rome, I have travelled extensively and worked and studied in Bologna, London, Brussels and New York. I finally settled down in Barcelona, which has been my home since 2008. I am deeply integrated into Catalan culture and society. Arriving at this career as a licensed tour guide was an inspiration, allowing me to join the dots of my life into an overall, meaningful mosaic of my passion for architecture, art, and history. My intellectual curiosity, combined with my insight into the political and social issues of our time are all different tiles of the mosaic. I deeply love what I do. My vibrant passion will accompany you on whichever tour you book with me. It will be a tour of discovery and adventure where you feel as primary actors in an interactive story. All tours will be a combination of fun, alongside with gaining deeper insights into Barcelona and Catalonia. On my tours, you will taste the "Catalan life, " immersing yourself in a flow of visions, sensations and stories, and experience the heritage, culture, food, history, politics and tradition in this unique city. There is much to do! Visit a monument or museum, walk through an historical area, enjoy the panoramic outlook over our city, or simply discovery the diversity of gastronomy. I will conduct the tour in a "relaxed "mode. No hustle bustle to keep pace with 90 other tourists. We will take the time to go in depth and taste all the flavors together. At the end of the tour, we will be both enriched and changed If you are intrigued, check out my tour itineraries that follow. If you have a special request, we can create a tour together that will suit your needs. As an example, I designed a skateboarder's tour of Barcelona for some young clients. We took in all the sights by both skateboard and bikes. I am always open to requests. - Degree in Political Science and History, University of Bologna, Italy, February 1998; - Master's degree in European Policies and law, University of Leuven, Belgium, 2005; - License as a tour guide of Canary Islands, Spain, April 2017; - License as a tour guide of Catalonia, Spain, May 2018; - Course about Montserrat, Monastery of Monserrat and University of Girona, Spain, 2019; - Course about Pablo Picasso, Picasso Museum and University of Barcelona, Spain, 2020, 2021, 2022; - Degree in Art History, University of Barcelona, Spain, in progress. I do not drive during my tours, as I am totally focused in delivering a touring service at a very high level: I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can alternatively arrange for a private car and a driver.

We will dive into that medieval town, surrounded by thick, tall, suffocating walls, which was the city of Barcelona until 170 years ago: wandering through narrow, uneven, but at the time pretty, hectic and lively streets. We will find, following the thread of memory and history, marks and testimonies of a glorious past, such as outstanding architectural gothic jewels, palaces, churches and chapel, and discover the remains of the old roman colony, hiding here and there in the architecture which came afterwards, and which used them as solid, immortal spine. After this promenade through history, architecture and anecdotes taking us back to a very old time, we will sit in a very nice tapas restaurant, and have an extensive tasting of some of the best Catalan and Spanish tapas, learning this very peculiar way of eating the Spanish way, which is basically sharing.
• Meet at your hotel, and start our tour catching a cab towards the old town, or walking there; • Cathedral and Plaça Nova; • Palace of Generalitat; • Plaça St. Jaume and Town Hall; • La Rambla; • Santa Maria del Pi; • Sant Felip Neri; • Plaça del Rei; • Santa Maria del Mar and la Ribera neighbourhood; • tapas restaurant Tour can be customized upon request. Of course the exact order of these steps will be defined definitely by the location where you are accommodated. Along each of them we will remind history and anecdotes, as so to sketch a very visual historical map of the city.
