Greetings, travelers! I'm Jaime, your licensed tour guide in Barcelona. Before we meet in "La Ciutat Comtal" ("the City of the Counts", another way to call it Barcelona), I can tell you a bit about myself. I have been working as a tour guide since 2018, welcoming private groups and larger groups as well. Even though I was born in Colombia, I fell in love with the city when I used to come to visit my dad's family during the Christmas holidays. As you can see, my father and I have traded places. He is still enjoying living in "La Ciudad de la Eterna Primavera" (in this case is Medellin, yet another nickname. By the way, what's the one for your hometown?). Before discovering my passion for guiding, I worked in an airline, the hospitality industry, and education for more than 20 years in Paris, Barcelona, and Seoul. It seems that in my DNA there are genes leading me to expand thresholds and share my passion for culture, history, and language. Barcelona is a city that has a lot to offer: history, art, gastronomy, traditions, secrets, and much more. And from here, you can reach interesting places in Catalonia, such as Montserrat, the Costa Brava, and important vineyards. I will be more than happy to help you discover, or rediscover, the city, creating together an experience according to your interests and expectations. We can go for the highlights of the city, aiming for Antoni Gaudi (7 of his projects are UNESCO world heritage sites), the Gothic Quarter (gothic?), Montjuïc and its Olympic Park, different Art Nouveau sites, and finding out why there is a Picasso Museum in Barcelona. I remain at your disposal to start tailoring your trip to "La Ciutat Comtal". Official Guide License (number 3029), issued by the Autonomous Government of Catalonia Degree in Tourism Information and Marketing Member of AGUICAT (Professional licensed tour guides Association of Catalonia). I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Gaudí, a genius or a madman? Regardless of the opinions the people had in his time, we will dive into his universe, discovering his main source of inspiration, nature. Even though Gaudi didn't start the construction of Sagrada Familia, it became his greatest enterprise, where he put together ideas from previous projects. Here, he reaches the peak of his faith and expertise. The outside, which is full of details about Jesus life, contrasts with the peaceful inside, a mystical place where light plays a key role. Park Güell, a project that wasn't meant to be a park, is the result of a perfect understanding between the architect and the client, in this case Mr Güell. Gaudí was very ahead of his time, especially when it came to respecting the environment. From the bridges, we will enjoy a nice view over the city, and of course, we cannot miss the mosaics and the lizard. If you prefer to visit different projects such as Casa Batllò, La Pedrera, Palau Güell, Casa Vicens or Bellesguard, please let me know!
Once we meet we will cover the itinerary below: In Sagrada Família: Nativity Facade The naves with the stained-glass windows Look at the crypt from the sides of the altar The Sacristy The Passion Facade The museum (in the event you choose La Pedrera as your second option, this won't be necessary because there is an excellent gallery in the attic to learn more about Gaudí's method) In Park Güell: The viaducts (the bridges) The Square of Nature The arcade of the washerwoman The hypostyle hall (or the Greek temple) The three fountains (including the lizard) and the pavilions at the exit Keep in mind that the order of the places to visit will depend on ticket availability. * Itinerary can be customized upon request. Feel free to message me.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
For groups up to 3 people, a taxi from one monument to the other ca be taken. For groups between 4 and 6 people, I suggest a chauffeured minivan. In Park Güell there is only one taxi stop which is located by the upper access of the park.
