Overview of your Barcelona tour
Join me for a full day dedicated to understanding Gaudí's fascinating world! As an architect, I am amazed by his innovative ideas, and it will be a pleasure to share them with you. We are going to explore the main sites he designed, including residential buildings like Casa Batlló, Casa Milà (La Pedrera) and Casa Calvet as well as his masterpiece, the Sagrada Família. Please note that these will be exterior visits. We will also discover lesser-known gems and other examples of Catalan Modernism, the local version of Art Nouveau, an architectural and artistic movement from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Along the route, we will learn about the three masters of Catalan Modernisme: Antoni Gaudí, Lluís Domènech i Montaner, and Josep Puig i Cadafalch. You will understand the symbolism and see how Gaudí reinterpreted nature to create architectural elements. You will discover why his work is so unique, and why he is considered an architect ahead of his time!
