Hello, I'm Paula! Having a Portuguese father, a French mother, a 5 years experience living in Italy, 2 full immersions courses in England, my environment is international. I speak foreign languages and I'm in touch with foreign people since my childhood. Consequently I took a first degree in International Relations and then a degree in Tourism Information specializing in Tour Guiding in 2003. Since then I've been working as a professional tourist guide always willing to learn more and to meet new people. My purpose has always been to be an ambassador of the Portuguese built, cultural and natural heritage I'm so fond of. To that I add my passion for wine, specially the Portuguese ones! I'm a certified sommelier and I'm postgraduated in Wine Tourism. I love to organize wine & food tastings and sensory experiences. On each bottle there is a storytelling that I'm proud to share with guests. Drinking is quenching thirst, tasting wine is culture! You don't drink alcohol? Not a problem, there are plenty of delicacies to be tasted :-) I'm also a trainer. I teach Winemaking, Food and Wine Pairing, Tourist Products and Services, etc. Yes I love to share my knowledge. If you are lucky enough to secure Paula as a tour guide grab her. What an incredible person she is and what a wonderful tour guide. She is a certified guide in Lisbon and there are only seven of them. She trains other guides! She is highly educated, sweet, and totally capable. Would've loved to spend longer with her but our cruise ship was leaving early and we had to put a lot into just three hours. We managed to see a lot and even stopped for a custard tart and coffee. Book her, she's great!

Paula collected our family group of 6 at our Chiado hotel and took us on a morning's walking tour of the surrounding area. Lisbon is a difficult city for walking if one has any mobility issues - steep hills, many stairs, narrow tiled sidewalks and huge pedestrian and vehicle traffic. She quickly factored all that in, and still provided a manageable and interesting tour that satisfied the interests of everyone in our group - with bits of history, culture and local color. It was definitely worthwhile.

Your Lisbon tour itinerary
We'll start our walking tour at the Rossio railway station where close by stands the beautiful Restauradores square. I'll make you travel back in time. Here I will show you one of the four centennial lifts helping people going up and down the different hills. If you'd like to take one I'll be happy to help. From there we will head to the heart of Lisbon, that is, Rossio square, full of history. Did you know Portugal had a huge presence in all continents in the past? Then it's time to climb to Chiado, a contemporary yet old district and one of my favorite spots. This area is the most expensive of the city. As you may know Lisbon stretches along 7 hills. Soon you'll be getting down to the Townhall of Lisbon. I like the atmosphere here, it seems a hidden place although located in the city center. The tour ends at the Square of the Commerce where the river waves at us. I may feel a little bit nostalgic when we say goodbye. The tour can be customized according to your preferences, please inquire. I'll do my best!
