Discover the beauty of Sintra, the coast and Cascais during this tour! Sintra is located just 30 minutes northwest of Lisbon on the magical mountain of the moon that spreads out to the coast. Because of its microclimate it has always been the perfect hideaway for the court and the royal family. The lush vegetation makes a nice contrast with the colours of the buildings. Here we can see many species of exotic trees coming from different parts of the world. It is a town full of palaces, fine residences and history! A place that looks like a dream come true and not to be missed. Cascais is a very charming sea resort where the kings enjoyed spending the late summer but it was during the time of World War II a refuge place for statesmen, kings without a throne, nobel families and spies. After this tour, you will understand how royalty relaxed and you may feel like one! Let's enjoy the views of the coast as we return to Lisbon.

We really cannot say enough about our day with Susannah. IT was perfect! She picked us up at our ship, drove us to Sintra and Cascais, guided us around the palace with interesting information, suggested restaurants for lunch, drove us back to to Lisbon by the coast, and topped the tour off with the famous Pastel de Baleme pastry. Extremely knowledgeable and very low key and easy to talk to. Her English was perfect as a bonus! You honestly cannot be disappointed spending a day with Susannah!

We had a beautiful start to the day. Susana was extremely friendly and knowledgeable as we toured the palace. Unfortunately my husband had a medical issue and we had to cut the tour short. Susana not only dropped us off at a hospital but she also went in with us to make sure we knew where to go and what to do. After we were done she came back to get us and took us back to our hotel. Her concern was genuine and her kindness was very much appreciated. We felt very much cared for.
Your Lisbon tour itinerary
Leaving Lisbon we will head towards Sintra. Possibility to visit one of the many palaces in Sintra such as the royal Palace or Pena Palace, romantic palace on the peak of the mountain ( during high season expect long lines to visit Pena Palace as well as traffic in Sintra) , Regaleira estate , moorish Castle or Monserrate palace. Continue to the coast . Stop in Cascais , famous sea resort for lunch (free time), and drive along the coast through Estoril back to Lisbon. New rules starting on the 2nd april 26 to visit Pena Palace -Guides are since 2nd april 26 forbidden to guide inside the Pena Palace. Normal ticket 20€ only gives acess to a few rooms and there are many steps to reach the rooms inside. It is mandatory to have a time slot to visit the inside of the palace. - I recommend the visit of the outside. Ticket costs 12€ and you have acess to the Park, terraces, chapel ,palace from the outside. - You can buy your ticket at www.parquesdesintra.pt
