At the beginning of 19th century Karzimerz was incorporated into Krakow. By 1939 the city was home to nearly 60. 000 Jews. During the communist rule was a forgotten place on Krakow's map. Actually Karzimierz is a tourist attraction with the seven large synagogues. It is the biggest such complex in Europe, comparable with the Jewish monuments in Prague.
