Fall in love with Krakow with a friendly, cheerful and knowledgeable tour guide! My name is Alicja and I've been guiding tourists for years. I have an official license of a guide and a tour leader granted by the local authorities. I often work with small groups of people having Polish roots so I have a huge experience in genealogy tours and genealogy research. I'm fascinated with the history of former, multicultural Galicia and its inhabitants - Christians, Jews, Lemkos and Germans. I specialise in the Jewish heritage tours - I cooperate with Galicia Jewish Museum and Taube Foundation - and wooden architecture tours. I can help you to organise your day trips to Zakopane, Wieliczka, Auschwitz etc. as well as customised tours to other places of interest. I'm a foodie too so I know the best places to eat out in the area :-) I'd love to show you around my magic city of Krakow! I have a license of a tour guide of Krakow and I'm also a museum guide in the Schindler's Factory and Underground Museum of the Main Market Square. I also took a special course in the Jewish history of the region at the Galicia Jewish Museum. I do not have a license to give tours inside of Wieliczka Salt Mine nor inside of Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum (they have their own local guides).

No visit to Krakow would be fully valuable without a tour of Kazimierz. For centuries it remained an independent town and it's inseparably bound with the history of Polish Jews. Bear in mind that the city wasn't destroyed during the II World War so Kazimierz is one of the best preserved Jewish districts in this part of Europe. Today Kazimierz is a district of Krakow situated within a walking distance of the Old Town, attracting tourists with its unique atmosphere and history. For me, it's one of the most important history lessons you can experience in Poland - not only about a special time, place and people but about us, the human beings, the good and the evil.
The tour includes: Szeroka Street, once the Jewish town's main square Old Synagogue (today the museum) Remuh Synagogue with the old Jewish Cemetery, the burial place of one of the most renowned Polish-Jewish scholar - Rabbi Remuh, the only synagogue in regular operation Jozefa Street and High Synagogue the Tempel (Progressive) Synagogue the Nowy Square and Wawrzynca Street The tour of Kazimierz is also a lesson of traditions of Polish Jews, their religion and customs. As our tour is private a lot depends on you - coffee or shopping breaks, additional attractions on the way, architectural jewels that are not far away but they are not included in the general itinerary. For example the tour can be extended with the sightseeing of Christian part of Kazimierz, which is famous for its beautiful gothic churches. So please, do not hesitate to contact me for a customized tour.

It's a walking tour but if your hotel is located in the Old Town it's sometimes better to take a taxi or tram to get to the Jewish district.
