Voytek was a great guide. We had a long day with him and his driver Igor, and all details and connections were easy and correct. Voytek customized our day to fit our schedule and on our walking tour he told us not only the history of Krakow, but his family’s experiences during the ‘Communist Era’ and what he remembered. We had an excellent private tour of Kraków with Voytek W. from Tours By Locals. Voytek was knowledgeable, personable, and very engaging throughout the tour. He did much more than simply point out the major sights - he explained the history behind them and helped us understand Kraków’s importance in Polish culture and history. Our tour included the Old City, Main Market Square, St. Mary’s Basilica, the Barbican, historic streets and buildings, and the Wawel Castle area. Voytek’s explanations were clear and interesting, and he was especially good at connecting individual landmarks with the broader story of Kraków and Poland. We also appreciated the comfortable pace of the tour. Voytek was attentive to us, allowed plenty of time for photographs and ice cream, and he was happy to answer questions along the way. His familiarity with the city made the experience feel personal rather than like a standard sightseeing tour. By the time we reached Wawel Castle at the end of the tour, we felt that we had gained a much better appreciation of Kraków and its remarkable history.
