Auschwitz Birkenau Museum is a symbol of the Holocaust, which left a great mark not only in Polish history. So it's not surprising that you are considering a visit to the Auschwitz Museum. Everyone must visit this place. One of my passions is the history of Poland. It concerns the history of World War II as well as the history and culture of Jews in Poland. I would like to share my passion with you during a tour to Auschwitz Birkenau camps. The journey from Krakow to the museum takes 1. 5 hours one way only. During this trip, I will tell you, among others: how did it happen that the largest number of Jews lived in pre-war Poland? How much did the Second World War affect Krakow and Poland? Unfortunately, I cannot accompany you inside the museum as the tours are reserved only for the guides working there. However, we will meet immediately after visiting the museum. When you decide to visit Auschwitz with me, you get more than just transport to the museum's door, just like other tours offer.
Alex drove my husband and me to Auschwitz and back. He purchased the tickets In advance. We chatted on the way there and back and he shared family history with us. Along the way he pointed out highlights to us. A delightful man!

My wife and I had a planned trip to Austria to visit some family and chose to add four days to travel to Krakow to see where her father’s origins. In our pre-trip research we found the Tours by Locals site and felt that a personally guided tour might be a great way to get the most out of our visit. Through the web site we found a number of tours and tour guides and we selected Alex to begin a dialog with on our particular desires, which included finding the gravesite of my wife’s great grandfather, whom we understood to be in a small village south of Oswiecim. Alex was very helpful and accommodating in setting up a tour that included a walking tour through the Krakow Old Town, then driving us to the village and helped us find the gravesite. Since the village was in the vicinity of Auschwitz and Birkenau, Alex drove by them to give us a description of the history, before taking us to the salt mine south of Krakow. Alex was extremely accommodating and flexible with the arrangements of our trip and he took every opportunity to give us a very enjoyable and informed experience. We had gotten a very positive feeling from Alex during our pre-trip dialog with him, that we booked a second day with him to visit the Tatra mountains.
Alex was amazing! He was friendly, polite, welcoming, informative, punctual, everything you want a tour guide to be! We learned so much from him and he was so accommodating with us! He showed us just what to do and where to go and we never once had to second guess anything. This was a spot on tour and we would definitely book him again!
This was a very easy way to see Auschwitz if you are staying in Krakow. I cant recommend it enough!
Great guide. He was very informative giving us a lot of history on the ride to Auschwitz. He gave us perfect instructions on meeting up after the tour. He facilitated a smooth day.
