Jalisco is home to the most representative items that represent Mexico in the world, Mariachi, Tequila and hat dance. But there is more in this land than those brands dyed by Hollywood to our country. I was born and raised in San Andres, one of the oldest barrios (neighborhoods) in Guadalajara, I belong to a large Mexican family. When I was 19 years old I went for an adventure to the United States, young and single with nothing to lose and lots to gain I migrated to the States. I was fortunate to meet lots of people from all over the world while I went to study in a community college, then I learned that there were lots of misconceptions about Mexico. First I study a GED and along the way I obtain an associated degree in liberal arts, then I decide I should do something to teach people about my country and I studied an associated degree in Traveling and Tourism. In the USA I lived mostly on the west coast but also for a while on the east coast. In the year 2000 I applied to the tourism bureau to get my credentials to become a Tourist guide and in 2001 I obtained a four-year permit which I renew twice and after twelve years I obtained my permanent permit. During this time I have met people from all over the world and I have participated in T. V. programs, radio programs, I have aided book writers and help people in different investigations. Family members search, climate change, owls research among many other adventures. So, since 2001 I've been guiding people from all over the world and enjoying what I do giving my best to every single person I have helped. Please allow me to show you my home and be part of your memories, memories that you will make when traveling into a new world that is waiting for you and your dear family members. On the east side 30 minutes away from Guadalajara's downtown is one of the most important arts and crafts centers in Mexico. Every Thursday and Sunday throughout Tonala's downtown the street market takes place better known as the TIANGUIS. Besides its popularity among locals and foreigners, Tonalá is home of some of the most famous folk art's great masters, traditional crafts that date back more than 2000 years, (burnished clay, flag clay, tapestry clay, cinnamon clay, betus clay, black clay, natural clay, stoneware. ). Luckily you may have the chance to visit one or two shops of the great masters and see how they make magic transforming the dust into a beautiful piece of art. In Tlaquepaque you'll find the largest arts and crafts exhibition center, beautiful galleries in mansions that were built during the 1600s, wonderful restaurants and the Mariachis home.
This tour begins at your most convenient time. From 8:00 am to 11:00 am. (Although we suggest you to begin at 9:30 a. m. ) Depending on your hotel's location is how soon it'll take us to get there, We will visit some shops where they produce folk art, some of the great masters of the Mexican folk art shops open their doors to us. We'll visit one or two of them in depends on what you are willing to see, we'll visit the Museo de la ceramica. Some shops in the pedestrian area, you do not have to buy anything, but you'll enjoy the talent of the mexican people. Then we'll go to Tlaquepaque home of the Mariachis, art galleries, and museum.
