Hi, I'm Michelle, originally from Michigan in the US. I've been living in Germany for 13 years now and enjoying it very much. I studied English Language and Literature at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I use everything I learned in this study path--the history, analysis, and creative writing to give tours in Bavaria today. I find the Bavarian culture full with heart, and there's never a dull moment here. The castle tours are my specialty, and I've done extensive research on them and Ludwig II. I like to leave my guests feeling as though they knew the king a little personally. We will step into his world and see and feel what his palaces meant to him. I can customize the tours to fit your wishes. When I'm not working, I enjoy my free time cycling around Munich, reading, or writing. When you visit Munich and choose one of my tours, I look forward to a great adventure with you! BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle.

We will begin our tour at an old city gate at Karlsplatz Stachus. From there you will discover the interesting beginnings of the city of Munich, how it transformed into a wealthy medieval town, and on to the great European city it is today. You will learn about the longest reigning family of Europe—including some outrageous Dukes and Kings—Munich's survival from numerous plague outbreaks, the devastation the second world war thrashed on the city, its recovery, and how Munich thrives today. You will see how Christianity still dominates Bavaria by the many churches we will see and perhaps visit. We will talk about the famous beer fests, Bavarian traditions and clothing, and not to be missed—we will see firsthand the shining star of Munich's production: beer! at the most famous beer hall in the world, the Hofbräuhaus. I make restaurant and shopping recommendations during the tour. I can highlight some local places the people of Munich flock to, off the beaten path.
After meeting up, we will cover the following highlights: -The Church of our Dear Lady—Frauenkirche -Marienplatz—Old and New Town Halls -St. Peter's Church -Viktualienmarkt—the local produce market -Hofbräuhaus—former royal brewery -Max Josef Platz and Opera House -Residenz—the Royal Palace -Feldherrnhalle—Field Marshall's Hall -Theatinerkirche—Italian style Church -Odeonsplatz -Maximillian and Theatiner Streets—elite shopping * Due to the duration of the tour, visits are from the exterior. But the tour can at anytime be customized to your preferences. Just send me a message!
