The Best of Munich: Two-hour Walking Tour

We will begin our tour at an old city gate at Karlsplatz Stachus. From there you will discover the interesting beginnings of the city of Munich, how it transformed into a wealthy medieval town, and on to the great European city it is today. You will learn about the longest reigning family of Europe—including some outrageous Dukes and Kings—Munich's survival from numerous plague outbreaks, the devastation the second world war thrashed on the city, its recovery, and how Munich thrives today. You will see how Christianity still dominates Bavaria by the many churches we will see and perhaps visit. We will talk about the famous beer fests, Bavarian traditions and clothing, and not to be missed—we will see firsthand the shining star of Munich's production: beer! at the most famous beer hall in the world, the Hofbräuhaus. I make restaurant and shopping recommendations during the tour. I can highlight some local places the people of Munich flock to, off the beaten path.
