Dear travellers, my name is Stefan, I am a native-born Münchner who has spent his previous life all over the world. After the completion of my studies of philosophy in Austria and England I decided to come back to my splendid Bavarian home town and I started to work as a journalist and tour guide. In 2006 I was trained and authorised to give tours in Munich and at the Dachau concentration camp memorial site. One of my major interests is the gloomy history of the Third Reich, and I am happy to share my knowledge with you. In 2022 I got my diploma as a certified beer sommelier, and I just created a new tour: the Munich beer journey - a walking tour with beer tastings. Check it out! I like to be outdoors as much as possible, and in my free time I do a lot of road cycling and hiking. And on request I also offer bicycle and hiking tours in Munich and in the Alps. I am looking forward to showing you around. If you wish to explore Bavaria with a real local, let us get in touch! Last but not least, thanks a lot for more than 400 5 star reviews over the past couple of years. Thanks to your feedback I was honoured as one of ToursByLocals's Top 3 Guides in Europe in 2017! Master in philosophy. Licensed to work as a tour guide in Munich and at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. Certified beer sommelier with diploma. I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

On this gripping history tour, you will explore the origins of the Third Reich. You will learn how the Nazis emerged in Munich after the First World War and how they made Munich their "Capital of the Movement" after they had come to power in 1933. There is a lot of architecture from this dark age of German history which you will get to see. In addition to original buildings which played a crucial role in the Nazis' march to power, I will show you many impressive photographs from that time. Finally, we will investigate how the population of Germany is now trying to come to terms with this heavy legacy.
We will see buildings and monuments which illustrate the Nazi party's early days in the 1920s and Adolf Hitler's rise to power in the 1930s as well as memorials to the victims of the Nazi regime. It is possible to end the tour at the newly opened Nazi Documentation Centre nearby the location of the former party headquarters. Typical highlights of this tour are -Odeonsplatz -Haus der Kunst -Königsplatz
