In one word. Superb. I am a repeat customer having used Maximilian six years ago. Later in the week, we have booked Max for two more tours. There were four of us in our group for this tour. He is truly outstanding and well knowledgeable beyond the subject matter of the tour with respect to customs and culture of the Bavarian people. During the road trip portion, our conversations covered a diverse range of subjects that makes the trip so much more enjoyable. Of course his detailed knowledge of the purpose of the tours, with so many anecdotal stories, bring the tour to life. We especially enjoyed his recommendation for a very most enjoyable lunch and pleased that he could join us. Our luncheon conversation only made the day feel like we were with family. We have used Tours By Locals in many countries. Maximilian is one of our all time favorites. Five Stars with certainty.

Could not wait to learn all about Eagles nest and it was a very informative experience. Had a great time with Max and he was very accommodating and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour especially if you are into WWII history.

Maximilian provided a great day for us! I highly recommend him. He provides great recommendations and excellent historical knowledge and perspective. The tour we scheduled was for a salt mine and Salzburg. These were amazing, but Maximilian added bonus stops with tours at a local coffee roasting company and schnapps distillery, which made the day even more memorable. Maximilian is professional and passionate, book one of his tours, you won’t be disappointed!

Max was a wonderful guide full of historical knowledge and local connections. I traveled with my 11 year old daughter and Max customized the tour to make sure she was always interested and engaged. Max really gave us a feel and understanding of the local customs and culture. This tour and experience made us feel like a local and not a tourist.

Maxilmilian is the best. We had such an amazing time on this tour. We had a funfilled day visiting the Salt Mines and Salzburg where we tried many delicious treats and had Schnitzel at an 800 year old restaurant. It was my son's birthday and he loves WWII History. He wanted to go to the Eagle's Nest, but it was closed for the season. Maximillian got us to a point were we could at least see it from a reasonable distance which made him happy. The Sound of Music, Mozart, a cute Christmas Martket, and a special birthday surprise. We had such a wonderful day. Our family Highly recommends Maximilian!

We had the privilege of spending three days with Maximilian. He is a proud German who brought history to life as we visited castles, churches, lunch on a Bavarian farm, Salzburg, Eagles Nest, Dachau, buildings and historical sites in Munich. The knowledge he shared with us brought understanding of the people and culture of Bavaria. Max went above and beyond taking my sister and me to Bad Wiessee, where our parents met while serving in WW2. Thank you does not adequately express how grateful we are that Maximilian was our guide.
