Munich is the city of the Oktoberfest and the Hofbräuhaus, the city of beer gardens and the strong beer festival, and Munich is often called the beer capital of the world! In fact, a major chapter in the history of beer was written in Munich and a lot of beer styles were invented in this area. On this tour we will take a closer look at eight different types of beer and you will learn all about the great Bavarian beer culture from a certified beer sommelier. The tour includes eight small samples of beer for each participant, and the beers are from different breweries. Please note that this is not a brewery tour and not a pub crawl, but a unique way to get to know the huge variety of beers that are brewed in Munich with a local beer expert. This tour is not about quantity, but quality, so it can easily be done in the morning, even if you have plans for the afternoon. The beer tasting lasts around 1. 5 hours and it's embedded in my regular 2.5 hour walking tour of Munich.

The ideal meeting point for this tour is Marienplatz (in front of the Tourist Information). We will start with a short introduction about Munich's history from the Middle Ages until today, and then continue with the beer tasting. Afterwards we will explore more sights in the Old Town including the Hofbräuhaus and (depending on the season) a traditional beer garden. This tour is designed for six beer drinkers. You can bring up to two extra persons who do not drink beer, like kids, for no extra charge. For bigger groups please send me a message. Please note that the tasting takes place outdoors, so make sure you wear appropriate clothes.
