Private Walking Tour: World War II and NS-Terror Regime in Munich

We took a historical Third Reich walking tour of Munich today with Miriam, and it was truly one of the highlights of our visit. Miriam was exceptional—extremely knowledgeable about Munich’s history, the rise of the Nazi Party, and the events that ultimately shaped one of the darkest periods of the 20th century. She has a wonderful ability to bring history to life, providing fascinating details at each location while connecting the individual sites into a much larger and more meaningful historical story. Just as impressive as her knowledge was Miriam herself. She was incredibly pleasant, personable, engaging, and genuinely likable. She welcomed questions and never made us feel rushed. She handled an extraordinarily serious subject with exactly the right combination of sensitivity, objectivity, and historical perspective. Standing in the actual locations where many of these pivotal events occurred while listening to Miriam explain their significance gave us a perspective that you simply cannot get from reading a history book. We have taken many guided tours during our travels, and Miriam was truly outstanding. If you are visiting Munich and have an interest in history, I cannot recommend Miriam and this tour highly enough. Five stars without hesitation. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Miriam is an excellent tour guide with a well-developed sense of what we wanted from our three-hour experience--general history with a special focus on the rise of Naziism and WWII. She was very sensitive to my wife's wheelchair limitations while keeping things moving at a quick but comfortable pace. Miriam's a very fun, knowledgeable, and interesting person, and we'd love to get together again. I've had many TBL tours and this was among the very best.

Miriam did a wonderful job with our tour in Munich. We had two teenage boys on our trip and she was so patient and talked the entire time with them and answered all of their questions. She was very knowledgeable and shared about her own life as well. With the heat wave she ensured we were in shade and had cool beverages. Highly recommend!

Miriam presents an excellent tour starting from the old town hall and walking out to see many sites. Along the way Miriam relates stories from her family’s experiences. You learn about how Hitler started in Munich and his frequent returns to the city. We enjoyed the afternoon walking with and learning from Miriam. I highly recommend this tour.
