Munich Essentials - Half-Day Tour

Need an overview of everything that Munich has to offer? This condensed walking tour is just the thing. We'll cover the main sites in Munich's old Town and give you a brief introduction to the history of the city and the Bavarian culture. We'll cover lots of history, and discuss art, architecture, current events in Munich, shopping ideas, as well as Bavarian food and beer. If you need help understanding the transportation system or tips about other things to discover in Munich, I'll happily cover that as well.

- Staring at your hotel in the morning, we will make our way to Munich's old town. - On the way, you'll hear plenty about the founding of Munich, its experience during wartime, and what it is like to live here now. -Starting at Marienplatz, the main square, we see the town hall & its Glockenspiel. -The old & new residences of the royal family, the Hofbräuhaus, the open-air Viktualienmarkt, and several churches, such as the iconic Frauenkirche. -We also walk part of route that Hitler's failed Putsch attempt of 1923. We'll also see where he attended his first meeting of the DAP (German Worker's Party - later the NSDAP) and visit where he gave his first major public speech. Our route adjusts for season, weather, day of the week, and special events.
