Nice to meet you. Born in Munich in 1966, I have lived here with my family most of my life. At the age of 16 I had the opportunity to spend two years in California. An experience that has influenced my life ever since. Not only did I learn (and learn to love) the English language and the friendly and relaxed atmosphere, it also broadened my view on both my hometown and origin. Being a tour guide is such a rewarding job, as I love to meet new people from all over the world and show them MY Munich. Strolling around this city is really fun and all the famous sights are quite close together downtown! There is so much to discover: the Gothic Frauenkirche, the Glockenspiel at Marienplatz, parks and palaces. . . Or would you like to try a glass of beer at the Hofbräuhaus, eat out in one of our famous Beer Gardens or go shopping at the Viktualienmarkt, a beautiful market where you can find the finest cheese, spices, fruit and vegetables, flowers and local craftsmanship? One of the top sites is of course the fairy-tale castle of Neuschwanstein in the Alps. I could take you on a day-trip through the wonderful countryside and show you the castle, picturesque villages and amazing churches on the way. But Munich also played a sad, important role in the rise of the Third Reich. During my tour of Dachau I will also show you the related sites in Munich for a deeper understanding of this dark era. When giving tours, my approach is always to give you a very personal, private tour and therefore an individual experience. It's not the amount of sites we "tick off", it is about why this church has been built, who is the king that turned his dreams into stunning reality. I want to show you my cultural heritage and let you be part of it. Being a licensed driver guide I can pick you up conveniently at your hotel and I will be with you throughout the tour, accompany you in the castles and also guide you at the destinations we visit, so you can simply lean back and enjoy! No matter if you are here for just a short period of time or a whole week - I will show you this wonderful city at your own pace, according to your wishes. Please feel free to contact me for any further information. Looking forward to meeting YOU! - Ausbildungslehrgang Reiseleiterin (Tour guide Travel Training Course) - Chamber of commerce degree: Certified Chauffeur - Commercial Driver's Licence allowing the transport of up to 8 passengers - Licensed guide for the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial The Bavarian castle administration does not allow private tours in some of the castles (such as Neuschwanstein e.g.). I will accompany you during the tour but a licensed guide will give the tour.

Overview of your Munich tour

If you visit Bavaria, you don't want to miss the probably most famous castle in the world! We will drive through the scenic Bavarian countryside, where Alpine mountains form the background. As a true local, born and raised in Bavaria I can already give you a detailed insight in life in Bavaria, its customs and traditions on our way to the castle. Along the way we will stop and stroll through quaint Oberammergau with its artfully decorated houses and famous for the passion play and wood carving. Our next highlight is King Ludwig's fairy tale castle Neuschwanstein: situated on a rocky hill the spectacular view and site will leave you awestruck. After a guided tour of the castle and many picture taking opportunities we can visit the pilgrimage church in the meadows: Wieskirche, one of the finest examples of Bavarian Rococo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In my tour you get a taste of the real Bavarian lifestyle: monarchy, history, art and nature, all with profound background information plus lots of fun.

We had the pleasure of spending 2 days with Simone. 1 for Neuschwanstein and the other for Dacau/Munich tour. Simone was the absolute best. She knows all of the history. She is very personable. Will answer all questions to the best of her ability and will tell as many stories as she can to show off the Bavaria she clearly knows and loves. I fully recommend Simone to anyone who really wants to hear about Bavaria. And these tours were fantastic.

My family of four which includes my wife and two kids in their early twenties took the full day tour o Neuschwanstein Castle with Simone. The tour was wonderful with stops along the way at Church, a active parochial school and this amazing town called Oberammergau. This was a town with so much history and some great shops. Then we arrived at the castle and it was snowing which only added to the ambiance of the trip. Simone was very knowledgeable of the castle and its history. We had a nice lunch on the top of the mountain before we toured the castle. My family really enjoyed the day and would recommend this tour and Simone to anyone in the future.

Simone was wonderful and gave a great tour to Neuschwanstein and other wonderful sites in the Bavarian countryside. She did a nice job answering the questions and inquiries of our emerging adults and had a delightful and welcoming demeanor. Thanks Simone for your guidance!
