Hello and Grüß Gott, I am Ulrich from Bavaria. Since 2010 I am guiding tours in Munich ordered and authorized by the townhall: CITY WALKs, BYCICLE and FOOD MARKET tours. I have a degree in business and worked as journalist and press relation manager. My first plan was to stay some years in Munich, as I could work in Bavarian broadcasting and television. And then go back to Nuremberg, my home town. 26 years have passed and I still love to be here. Since 2015 I have the official license as a tour guide at DACHAU CONCENTRATION CAMP. My customers are international travelers and school groups. By and by I became an expert in THIRD REICH TOURS and as well for EAGLES NEST, which is located in the Alpes Mountains and was finally Hitlers second power center after Berlin. I want to fill you with my own entusiam for Munich and the sourrounding areas. Explaining history and showing every day life I make you understand Bavarian culture. I will sculpt the tours according to your needs and interests as I am a passionate traveler myself. Travelling was my passion for many years. Half a year I studied in Spain, then I visited the most pitoresque sites in Europe and many places in Asia and America. My special interests are history, art and literature. In my free time I write crime novels and a Facebook blog about books. - studied business administration, Spanish, Theater and German literature - passed the examination as a Munich tour guide at Munich Walk Tours 2011 - got the license for Dachau memorial after 6 month training 2015 As it is not allowed in Germany to transport people in private cars without a license I cannot offer lifts to Dachau, Salzburg, Neuschwanstein Castle or Eagles Nest.

In this historical tour, we go back to the dark past of Germany between 1933 and 1945. It's necessary to talk about the economic and political conditions of the Third Reich and about its impact on Germany today. As an officially authorized guide, I will show you all parts of Hitler's first concentration camp, which became a model for all the other camps in central Europe. You will see the jour house, the maintenance building, cells, barracks, religious memorials, and the gas chamber. I will explain to you the most important exhibits of the museum and give guidelines according to the historic facts. You get details about individual cases, about the way, the camp was organized, and about systemized torture and murder. The tour includes a 22 minutes long documentary.
Ulrich did a great job of helping us navigate the logistics to/from and at Dachau. He offered lots of new information, offered flexibility and went above and beyond in helping with concerns that were not part of the scope of the tour. highly recommend.
We met our guide Ulrich on time at the hotel. Our overall comment, he was very nice, extremely knowledgeable and very kind to us all. We really enjoyed his company. The information he provided to us was right on the mark and he never ran out of helpful insights to this dark time of history.
Our Dachau tour with Ulrich was excellent. We would recommend him highly for this and probably any other Munich area tour he provides. Ulrich is a good communicator, not only on the tour itself but also during the planning of your experience. He shares the facts/history and offers contemporary thoughts/opinions which relate to the historical/political aspects of the tour. While he himself is very energetic, he is also observant and recognizes when a rest/food break is needed. Overall it was a pleasant and informative day with a dark subject.

- After we have met we go by train to the city of Dachau, located 12 miles in the northwest of Munich, and change than to a local bus. - The trip from Munich to the Memorial needs about 50 minutes. On the way, you will get already information about the tour. - We start at the visitors center and walk through the campsite. For handicapped people, there is the option to get a buggy (electro scooter). - The tour will last around 3 hours at the camp. Afterward, we can stop by the bookshop and refreshments. - Then we return to Munich by bus and train.
