Salzburg Old City, Sound of Music and the High Fortress - Day trip from Munich

As we drive through the incredibly scenic Bavarian countryside, we will delve into the history of Salzburg, and this part of Bavaria. I lived in this area for a year and found its history to be as fascinating as the area is beautiful, and I would love to share my love of this area, as well as my knowledge, with you. There is simply no end to incredible things to see and do in the old city of Salzburg. We will park in a mountain (!) and walk across a bridge where thousands upon thousands of "love locks" have been attached to the fence. As we wander through the narrow alleys of the old town, we will have the opportunity to walk or take a funicular to the "Highfortress" and experience the history of this incredible city first hand, and seeing the view of the river and city from the Fortress is breathtaking . . . And picture taking. And, of course, the famous Sound of Music scenes known from the movie should be seen in person. We can "Do Re Me" on the actual steps!
