If I had visited Schloss Nymphenburg on my own, I would not have enjoyed it. However, having Miriam as my guide made a huge difference. She is a former journalist with a scholarly mentality, and was able to point out and describe all kinds of historical details that made the visit a pleasure. Instead of just looking at things, I learned about them, and had an academic experience that stimulated me far more than I expected. If/when I visit Munich again, I'm going to make advance plans to have Miriam as my guide for other tours.
