Nice to meet you. Born in Munich in 1966, I have lived here with my family most of my life. At the age of 16 I had the opportunity to spend two years in California. An experience that has influenced my life ever since. Not only did I learn (and learn to love) the English language and the friendly and relaxed atmosphere, it also broadened my view on both my hometown and origin. Being a tour guide is such a rewarding job, as I love to meet new people from all over the world and show them MY Munich. Strolling around this city is really fun and all the famous sights are quite close together downtown! There is so much to discover: the Gothic Frauenkirche, the Glockenspiel at Marienplatz, parks and palaces. . . Or would you like to try a glass of beer at the Hofbräuhaus, eat out in one of our famous Beer Gardens or go shopping at the Viktualienmarkt, a beautiful market where you can find the finest cheese, spices, fruit and vegetables, flowers and local craftsmanship? One of the top sites is of course the fairy-tale castle of Neuschwanstein in the Alps. I could take you on a day-trip through the wonderful countryside and show you the castle, picturesque villages and amazing churches on the way. But Munich also played a sad, important role in the rise of the Third Reich. During my tour of Dachau I will also show you the related sites in Munich for a deeper understanding of this dark era. When giving tours, my approach is always to give you a very personal, private tour and therefore an individual experience. It's not the amount of sites we "tick off", it is about why this church has been built, who is the king that turned his dreams into stunning reality. I want to show you my cultural heritage and let you be part of it. Being a licensed driver guide I can pick you up conveniently at your hotel and I will be with you throughout the tour, accompany you in the castles and also guide you at the destinations we visit, so you can simply lean back and enjoy! No matter if you are here for just a short period of time or a whole week - I will show you this wonderful city at your own pace, according to your wishes. Please feel free to contact me for any further information. Looking forward to meeting YOU! - Ausbildungslehrgang Reiseleiterin (Tour guide Travel Training Course) - Chamber of commerce degree: Certified Chauffeur - Commercial Driver's Licence allowing the transport of up to 8 passengers - Licensed guide for the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial The Bavarian castle administration does not allow private tours in some of the castles (such as Neuschwanstein e.g.). I will accompany you during the tour but a licensed guide will give the tour.

Even if you only have a short time here in Munich, with this tour you will get to see the Top Ten places down town. As a true local I not only will show you all the famous sites, but will introduce you to the illustre characters that shaped the city's history: a duke that went bancrupt, a monkey that kidnapped a royal baby, a builder who fooled the devil, a king and his mistress and many more. Along the way we will see the medieval court and a Renaissance castle, Gothic and Baroque churches, today's colorful Viktualienmarkt, the Hofbrauhaus and much more. Munich and its 850 year old history have so much to offer, let me show you the highlights (and lots of historic photographs) and give you the background information so the sites will get a meaning. As Goethe put it: You only see what you know. OPTION: ***This tour can also be extended to four hours including the Koenigsplatz area with the art district and the former Nazi headquarters - please check out my top 12 tour for further information**

Simone was a wonderful guide for the historic area of Munich. Her great sense of humor was matched by her deep knowledge of the history, art, and architecture of everything we saw. As one of us has mobility issues, Simone was considerate and thoughtful about what should be modified. Wish we had taken her food tour as well!
Simone was exceptional! She provided us with an informative overview of Munich in a relatively short amount of time. She was very conversational in that she didn't provide a blast of information, she explained things in an easy to understand manner and clearly addressed any questions. We recommend Simone without reservation.
Simone's introduction to Munich was a wonderful way for us to get an orientation to the city. All of her communication before our trip with us was prompt and complete and all of our questions were answered. Clearly she is a very professional guide and understands how to connect with a group. One of our group has significant hearing loss and, once we made Simone aware of the situation, she met all of the needs with sensitivity and clarity. Simone was a great choice and we would choose her again!
We were on a long layover in Munich. Simone was responsive on WhatsApp leading up to the tour. She was flexible, friendly, informative, and responsive to our needs. She showed us things that we would not have seen. Good guide, good time. Thank you!
Simone is a kind soul with a deep knowledge and understanding of Munich and Bavaria. She was able to answer every question we had and tailored the tour to our wants. Through our conversations, she was able to determine what she felt we'd most like to see and know about and made a point to explain the significance of things that we would have easily walked by without ever knowing. When we return to Munich, we will definitely be reaching out to Simone for another tour. We learned so much on our tour
- I'll meet you at Marienplatz, the central square in Munich. - We'll stroll through mostly pedestrian areas to the most important sites such as the world famous food market or the Hofbrauhaus but also see hidden courtyards and back alleys, churches, palaces, etc. - At the end of the tour you'll get a good feel for and impression of the city - this is your tour so tell me what you are most interested in and I'll adapt the tour
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
