Hello and Grüß Gott, I am Ulrich from Bavaria. Since 2010 I am guiding tours in Munich ordered and authorized by the townhall: CITY WALKs, BYCICLE and FOOD MARKET tours. I have a degree in business and worked as journalist and press relation manager. My first plan was to stay some years in Munich, as I could work in Bavarian broadcasting and television. And then go back to Nuremberg, my home town. 26 years have passed and I still love to be here. Since 2015 I have the official license as a tour guide at DACHAU CONCENTRATION CAMP. My customers are international travelers and school groups. By and by I became an expert in THIRD REICH TOURS and as well for EAGLES NEST, which is located in the Alpes Mountains and was finally Hitlers second power center after Berlin. I want to fill you with my own entusiam for Munich and the sourrounding areas. Explaining history and showing every day life I make you understand Bavarian culture. I will sculpt the tours according to your needs and interests as I am a passionate traveler myself. Travelling was my passion for many years. Half a year I studied in Spain, then I visited the most pitoresque sites in Europe and many places in Asia and America. My special interests are history, art and literature. In my free time I write crime novels and a Facebook blog about books. - studied business administration, Spanish, Theater and German literature - passed the examination as a Munich tour guide at Munich Walk Tours 2011 - got the license for Dachau memorial after 6 month training 2015 As it is not allowed in Germany to transport people in private cars without a license I cannot offer lifts to Dachau, Salzburg, Neuschwanstein Castle or Eagles Nest.

Our tour offers an informative and entertaining walk through the Old Town and in the second part of the tour we will see one of the most appealing neighborhoods. It will give you a good overlook to the most attractive highlights. We will have a historically well-founded time-travel which includes the current city policy and insider tips for shopping and dining. From Marienplatz, where the history of Munich started, we walk to the Viktualienmarket and see the famous Hofbräuhaus. From here we move to the Opera House and hear about Bavarias way to become a kingdom. More attractions are Theatiner church - Fieldmarshallhall - Royal Garden - State Chanclery and Residence. After that we go by public transport to Haidhausen, the "village within the city" and experience a smaller local food market at Wiener Platz, discover the "French Quarter" and stroll through the most picturesque areas for shopping, drinking and eating. According to your needs I can tailor the tour for you!
As mentioned in the summary you will see the hightlights of the Old Town and combine it with a visit in one of the most attractive quarters of Munich. We start at Marienplatz, the main square and see the Glockenspiel depending on our starting time. On our way we cross the open air market (Viktualienmarkt) and see the famous Hofbräuhaus Moving along the most expensive street Maximilianstrasse we reach Max-Joseph Platz and Opera House Our next steps lead us through Residenz and Hofgarten. By the way we see the State Chanclery. Another highlight will be Odeonsplatz with one of the most traditional coffee houses, Theatinerkirche and Feldherrnhalle. The metro will bring us now to Haidhausen. In this second part we see a cosy food market (Wiener Platz) and pass by Johanniskirche. By smaller walkways we explore the village with its little houses. Passing Bourdeaux Square we reach a very urban area full of shops and restaurants. Have a look to the slide show in the Gallery to get an idea about Haidhausen!
