Hi. I was born in the heart of England and after graduating in history and archaeology from the University of Wales Bangor I spent a few years working as an archaeologist and historic conservator in some of the U. K's grandest castles and manors. I moved to Munich 12 years ago and since then I have worked as a tour guide covering all aspects of local history, from Munich's medieval origins to the Nazis. Over the years of working in I have developed a special interest in the local brewing history and beer drinking culture and as well as the history and palaces of the royal family. Medieval history and the early years of the Nazi's are also passions of mine. On my tours I love to look beyond the typical and delve more deeply into Munich's fascinating history and culture by showing my guests it's grandest palaces, hidden gems, traditional beerhalls and as much as we can squeeze in on a tour. My aim is to show you the best of Munich and provide for you an unforgettable day out. B.A (hons) in History and Archaeology M.A in Celtic Archaeology Trained in Historic Conservation Officially accredited and licensed guide for the Dachau Memorial I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. Under 16s, although welcome to join with their families, are not allowed to drink beer on the history of beer tour

Discover Munich's hidden gems on this exclusive tour through the Old Town. With our guide you will be shown the overlooked parts of the city. Some away from the main sights and the hustle and bustle of the tourists and others so well hidden in plain sight that even locals aren’t aware of them. On your tour you will explore the charming laid-back atmosphere of the Hackenviertel, the least touristy part of the old town. You'll also see surviving sections of the medieval city wall, offering a glimpse into the city's ancient past, and visit tucked-away art galleries showcasing contemporary works. We will also look at sites linked to the famous literary figures of Heinrich Heine and Thomas Mann plus pay homage at memorials dedicated to overlooked World War II victims. The tour also includes the best-kept secrets of Viktualienmarkt. Finally, we finish at the café that inspired Munich's most famous cake, a perfect spot to reflect on your journey and indulge in local favourites delicacies.
We begin in the Hackenveirtal, the most quarter local of Munich's old town Afterwards we will see a memorial to Holocaust victims Following this we will explore the less busy parts in the Viktualienmarkt We turn towards Vindelikerhaus, a beautiful old house now home to one of the more infamous groups in the city Next we'll pass a few local bars and Munich old town's only functioning flour mill and its bakery where you can try local pastries We'll head into the quiet medieval passages of Platzlgassen then see the Renaissance courtyard in the Alte Münz Following that we'll head to the Residenz and see a hidden art gallery.
