Dear Traveler, my name is Lucía. I grew up in Madrid, the capital of Spain, surrounded by family from many parts of the world: my paternal grandparents from the Canary Islands and the south of the Spanish peninsula, and my maternal grandparents from Germany and Austria, who met as a result of the Second World War. The economic situation in Spain 15 years ago made me want to finish my studies in Germany. I graduated in Art, Design and Photography in Munich, where I've been working as a tour guide for 14 years, showing people all over Bavaria and Austria. In 2012, I became an official licensed tour guide at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial, a subject that has always interested me due to my family history. During the pandemic I returned to the world of photography and design, working in a marketing agency, but it became very clear to me that my thing was contact with people, helping them to know better the city where I live and collaborating with the historical memory of a tragic period in the history of humanity from which we must learn, so when the pandemic ended I returned to tourism and decided to focus on the history of the Second World War. As far as my tours are concerned, in this world where everything goes very fast and there is a constant overload of stimuli, I think it is important to take a break and see and understand things calmly. That is why I like to explore the city of Munich as well as historically charged places like Dachau in a calm and empathic way. If you also enjoy exploring things at a slower pace and from a deeper, less superficial perspective - avoiding the typical highlights found in every guidebook or website - I would love to show you around the capital of Bavaria and its historical landmarks!

Munich holds a central place in the history of the Nazi regime. Known as the "Capital of the Movement," it was here that the Nazi Party was founded in 1920 and where many key events took place, shaping the course of World War II. The city played a pivotal role in the rise of Adolf Hitler, and today, it is home to several landmarks that show the impact of this dark chapter in history. Since 2012, I have dedicated myself to studying the Second World War and Nazism, and I am also an official guide at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. This deep connection to the subject allows me to offer a respectful and insightful perspective on Munich's Nazi past. During this walking tour, we will visit buildings that stand as silent witnesses to the Third Reich. These locations, largely unchanged over the years, provide a powerful reminder of the city’s role in the rise of one of history’s most devastating regimes.
- The guided tour will begin at Marienplatz unless a different meeting point has been specified. From there, we will head to Hofbräuhaus to discuss the early days of the Nazi Party. - We will also visit the Haus der Kunst, where Aryan art was promoted. Crossing the Royal Gardens, we will reach Odeonsplatz, a site of significant events during National Socialism. We will then walk down Briennerstrasse to the former Nazi Party administrative area. The tour will finish at Königsplatz unless another location is requested. Key sites we’ll see: • Marienplatz • Hofbräuhaus • Haus der Kunst • Hofgarten • Odeonsplatz • Memorial to the victims of National Socialism • Briennerstrasse • Nazi Party Administrative Area • Königsplatz Feel free to contact me to customize the tour—I’d be happy to adjust it. Please note that most of the tour will be outdoors and on foot, so comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are essential. *Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, this tour is not recommended for children.
