Munich & the Third Reich: 3-4h Walking Tour

Munich holds a central place in the history of the Nazi regime. Known as the "Capital of the Movement," it was here that the Nazi Party was founded in 1920 and where many key events took place, shaping the course of World War II. The city played a pivotal role in the rise of Adolf Hitler, and today, it is home to several landmarks that show the impact of this dark chapter in history. Since 2012, I have dedicated myself to studying the Second World War and Nazism, and I am also an official guide at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. This deep connection to the subject allows me to offer a respectful and insightful perspective on Munich's Nazi past. During this walking tour, we will visit buildings that stand as silent witnesses to the Third Reich. These locations, largely unchanged over the years, provide a powerful reminder of the city’s role in the rise of one of history’s most devastating regimes.

- The guided tour will begin at Marienplatz unless a different meeting point has been specified. From there, we will head to Hofbräuhaus to discuss the early days of the Nazi Party. - We will also visit the Haus der Kunst, where Aryan art was promoted. Crossing the Royal Gardens, we will reach Odeonsplatz, a site of significant events during National Socialism. We will then walk down Briennerstrasse to the former Nazi Party administrative area. The tour will finish at Königsplatz unless another location is requested.
