No one is more passionate about Bavaria. My love of the Bavarian culture and history has made me an authority on all things Bavarian! I am from the USA and have a Bachelor of Arts in German Language and History. After college I spent several years in the hospitality industry on Mackinac Island, Michigan, and was later Co-President of a successful plastic injection molding company. I'm also part-owner of a microbrewery in Michigan (which specializes in Bavarian beer and food), am a certified Diplom BierSommelier, and the first non-native member of the Aventinus-Buam. Having lived in the Bavarian capital of Munich for over 14 years, I am highly integrated into the culture and enjoy being a part of many Bavarian Stammtisch groups. With this insight, I will help you unlock that magic that is Bavaria! Diplom BierSommelier (Doemens Institute) Bachelor of Arts (German and History)

"If you have just one day in Bavaria, spend it at Kloster Andechs, " is the common advice offered by many Bavarians. The "Holy Mountain, " still operated by Benedictine Monks, offers excellent Bavarian food and drink along with a fabulous Rococo church, Alpine vistas, and a unique history. As a Diplom BierSommerlier and historian, the several hours in the beer garden will pass all to quickly. We'll discuss the history of the area and the church, and sample some of the best Bavarian delicacies.
Depart for Kloster Andechs using public transportation. Our trip south of Muncih will take about 60 minutes. Once at the Monasery, we have 3-4 hours to tour the grounds, the church and have a long lunch in the beer garden. After a few hours at Andechs, you have the option of taking a ride on Lake Starnberg. Large boats ply this 22 square mile lake. On board is a veritable floating beer garden with lots of food and drink available. A myriad of schedules are offered and we will decide that together if you are interested. One highlight, however, is the site where King Ludwig II was found mysteriously found dead. You will hear the complete tale! Alternatively, we can head back into Munich and either stop at some other beer gardens or do a short history tour. It's your option!
