Introduction to Munich's Old Town

On your tour of Munich's Old Town, you'll wander through streets steeped in history and vibrant local culture. Of course Munich's darker history will not be ignored and you will learn about the origins of the Nazi party and see important sites such as the birthplace of the party and where the Beer Hall Putsch came to its violent end. I will meet you at the Marienplatz at 10.45 by the famous Fish Fountan before we begin with the history of the sqaure then watch the Glockenspiel play. Afterwards we will walk through the medieval heart of the city visiting the most important sites such as the Frauenkirche Cathedral and the Viktualienmarkt food market but also see the hidden gems of the city that most tourists pass by. Winding north we will explore the courtyards of the Residenz palace plus see the very spot Hitler came close to being killed in his failed 1923 coup, the Beer Hall Putsch. Finally we will end at the spectacular Odeonsplatz (My favourite sqaure)
