I have a passion for the subject I talk about, which has led me to do primary history research into specific areas of the Second World War, which I started 35 years ago. I specialise in providing English language Second World War tours in southern Germany, which I do full time. The two specific areas I tend to focus on are: •Third Reich Munich - I have the largest photo archive of all Third Reich sites in Munich and conduct general tours of a few hours through to specialist all-day tours for PhD students, the Royal Air Force and so on. •Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial site - I have been an official guide for 20 years. I have met with many people connected with the camp over the years, survivors and liberators. I also provide tours to all the hidden related sites in the surrounding area. I am the only guide in southern Germany who provides this service. I have spoken to many people with a connection to this period of history, such as many of ex-prisoners and the soldiers who liberated Dachau before they passed away. I often took them back through the camp site many years later and talked to them about the specifics of what they saw and what happened back then. Despite these events happening over half a century ago, they shaped modern Europe and there are lessons to be learnt, so I feel that that it is an important subject to talk about. I also occasionally undertake more specialist private tours for real history buffs, historians and authors or perhaps sons or daughters of camp survivors to lesser known sites such as Kaufering or Moosburg, for example. If you have a specific request, please get in touch and I will see if I can tailor something to your needs. I am friendly and encourage questions and discussion. So whether you have only a basic understanding of the topic or already have a depth of knowledge on the subject, come on a tour with me. Official Licensed Dachau Memorial guide of 20 years Primary WW2-related history research of 35 years The most complete record of the Battle of Britain in existence in Kent and Sussex. An extensive photo archive of hundreds of Third Reich sites in the Munich area.

I will give you a detailed, objective tour of the site. Dachau was the only camp open for the whole duration of the Third Reich and was the training center for many of the people who were to become infamous in the following years, such as Rudolf Hoess (future commandant of Auschwitz). I will cover a broad range of different aspects of camp life during its different periods of operation right through to its liberation in April 1945. Over the 20 years I have been a Memorial guide I have met many ex-prisoners, their families, and the American soldiers who liberated the camp. I will relate their stories. Thousands of people met their end here, often in a barbaric way. The relevance of the Memorial today to future generations is a very important subject, as well as its relevance to the survivors, their families, and the GIs who have a personal connection to the place.
