Hello and Grüß Gott, I am Ulrich from Bavaria. Since 2010 I am guiding tours in Munich ordered and authorized by the townhall: CITY WALKs, BYCICLE and FOOD MARKET tours. I have a degree in business and worked as journalist and press relation manager. My first plan was to stay some years in Munich, as I could work in Bavarian broadcasting and television. And then go back to Nuremberg, my home town. 26 years have passed and I still love to be here. Since 2015 I have the official license as a tour guide at DACHAU CONCENTRATION CAMP. My customers are international travelers and school groups. By and by I became an expert in THIRD REICH TOURS and as well for EAGLES NEST, which is located in the Alpes Mountains and was finally Hitlers second power center after Berlin. I want to fill you with my own entusiam for Munich and the sourrounding areas. Explaining history and showing every day life I make you understand Bavarian culture. I will sculpt the tours according to your needs and interests as I am a passionate traveler myself. Travelling was my passion for many years. Half a year I studied in Spain, then I visited the most pitoresque sites in Europe and many places in Asia and America. My special interests are history, art and literature. In my free time I write crime novels and a Facebook blog about books. - studied business administration, Spanish, Theater and German literature - passed the examination as a Munich tour guide at Munich Walk Tours 2011 - got the license for Dachau memorial after 6 month training 2015 As it is not allowed in Germany to transport people in private cars without a license I cannot offer lifts to Dachau, Salzburg, Neuschwanstein Castle or Eagles Nest.

This tour is very much focused on the Nazi Regime and shows in an intense excursion both: The Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial and Munichs most important Nazi Sites. An ideal tour for people with a lack of time and a combination of two half-day Tours. We start with a review of the destructions done by World War II at the vibrant main square. Then we follow the footsteps of Adolf Hitler on his way to power, from the first mass meeting at Hofbräuhaus to the failed beer hall riot at Feldherrenhalle. We will travel then by public transport to the Dachau Memorial. It had been the first concentration camp under der Nazi regime. Designed as a camp for opponents it changed to a work camp. With the start of the war everything worsened. You will understand how the ultimate catastrophe could happen. Finally we will see memorials of the war and remaining Nazi buildings at Königsplatz, often called the spiritual center of the regime. It will be a historically well-founded timetravel which includes current politics.

Amazing tour from Ulrich! Incredibly insightful and masterfully timed across so many sites for the day. Ulrich shared so much with us, a party of four adults (30 somethings, 60 somethings) -- gradually building the Third Reich history over time chronologically so it was easy to follow and keep pace with the many stories and details (which was great). The tour is a long one for good reason (pack water), and Ulrich breaks up the experience with moving locations, a documentary, and a lunch break. We all felt so much more aware of the context of Munich and the Third Reich after. Completely recommend!
Ulrich was wonderful. We had an excellent tour of the Third Reich in Munich and Dachau. He was very informative and his knowledge was impressive. We would highly recommend Ulrich and this tour. We had a great day learning German history!
We recently had a full day tour of Dachau and Nazi Regime with Ulrich. He was absolutely awesome from the start to the finish of the day. He went above and beyond of our expectations. We learned so much from him and at the same time enjoyed our time with him. Ross ...Thank you GREATLY from our Family. Ulrich you packed a great day for us.....Thank you!!!!
What a wonderfully informative day we spent with Ulrich on our 3rd Reich and Dachau tour today. Being in the exact places that history occurred is amazing and Ulrich did a great job taking us back to the formative days of Adolf Hitler and his movement. Moving chronologically through history, Ulrich explained all aspects of who, what, where and why. It's also so beneficial to be with your own small group so every question is heard and you can have conversations that springboard from the subject at hand.
We had the most amazing day with Ulrich! Going private was absolutely the right choice as we got Ulrich all to ourselves and could tap into his vast knowledge of this historical time at any given moment. It made the experience much more intimate and we felt like other locals, rather than tourists. Being guided by a local is the only way to go! Thanks again Ulrich! Bis zum nächsten Mal!
- We start with a review of the destructions done by World War II at the vibrant main square. - Then we follow the footsteps of Adolf Hitler on his way to power, from the first mass meeting at Hofbräuhaus to the failed beer hall riot at Feldherrenhalle. - From here we travel by metro and local trains to the outside village of Dachau and take the bus towards the Dachau Memorial. We study the changes in the camp from the beginning in Mai 1933 up to the liberation by American troops and the time afterwards. - The visit in the Memorial includes a documentary and a short break. After having seen the campsite and the museum we travel back to Munich. - We explore Königsplatz, which is sometimes called the spiritual center of the Nazis and see some typical Nazi buildings. - We end the tour at the newly opened Nazi Documentation Centre nearby the location of the former party headquarter.
