Augsburg is the second oldest city in Germany after Trier. Its beginning is in Roman times, and its high time was in the late middle ages. The water system of the city is a world cultural heritage. We start at Saint Anna Church and Monastery, the reformer Martin Luther lodged there. Today it's a protestant church, but has a catholic chapel inside. We continue to the main market and see the facades of great palaces of successful business families, the Golden Hall in the city hall. Also social living from the Middle Ages till today will come into our focus as also the Church of Saint Ulrich and Afra and the city palace of the Family Fugger and the Red Tower of the water system.
We would start at Saint Anna monastry, continue to the main amrket with the city hall, from there we descent to teh Fuggerei, then we cross over to the Church Saint Ulrich and Afra. And we summarize at the Red Tower. I can customize the tour according to your interests and wishes.
