Bonjour from Bordeaux! I can't wait to share my beautiful city with you. My primary goal is for you to enjoy yourself and hopefully fall in love with this magnificent region of France. My tours are flexible and customized to each client so please tell me a bit about yourself so I can tailor our time together to suite your interests. I will show you the most beautiful monuments and architectural highlights; I can give you the dates and names of architects or I can simply tell you the anecdotes that make the monuments special to us. I will not let you leave Bordeaux without learning about the legendary Eleanor of Aquitaine, the most influential woman of the Middle Age who altered European history for centuries. I have so many stories to tell you and will answer any questions you have about Bordeaux's past or present. If I don't know the answer, I will find it and get back to you! As a food enthusiast, I have made it my mission to discover the best that Bordeaux has to offer and I will share with you all of my favorite restaurants and gourmet shops. Whether you want fine dining or a quiet riverside picnic, I know where to take you. Now a little about me. . . . I am a dual citizen of America and France, born in the US and living in France for 20 years. I met my French husband in the US and after having my second child, I moved us all to France.. It was the best decision of my life and now that my children are older, I spend as much time as possible in cafés sipping espresso or wine. I have learned so much in my time here and I love sharing my knowledge and experiences with curious travelers. Bordeaux is a gorgeous city with so many layers of fascinating history. We are experiencing an actual renaissance at the moment so it is the perfect time for you to visit! I hope you are excited about your upcoming trip to Bordeaux. I would love to be your guide :) Credentials: Bachelor of Science from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Over 200 hours of professional and recreational cooking classes at L'Academie de Cuisine, the Cordon Bleu in Paris, and L'Atelier des Chefs in Bordeaux. **Outside of tourism, I work in animal rescue and train dogs so feel free to bring your canine friends along. France is a pet friendly country and dogs are welcome almost everywhere.

Overview of your Bordeaux tour

Bordeaux's story begins in 300 B. C. as a part of the Roman Empire and as a strategic port city; it played an important role in every major French war. Did you know that the 100 Years War against England was in fact a fight over Bordeaux and the surrounding region? Or that Napoleon passed through Bordeaux on his way to fight Spain and built Bordeaux's first bridge? The enormous Nazi submarine base still stands and will surely take your breath away. I will show you the monuments tied to these wars and tell you the legends and anecdotes documented by French historians that you will not find in guidebooks.

I spent a most enjoyable day with Stephanie in early June. She is very familiar with the Bordeaux area and both its distant and recent history. We visited a number of sites that were on my list including the central market and the WWII uboat pens. Additionally, she helped me with some proper pronunciations of cities that I would be visiting after Bordeaux as well as suggesting an evening dining venue and making reservations for me. Should I be in the area in the future, I would certainly seek out Stephanie to tour the wider area.

Stephanie, took our booking late the night before we wanted to go. Met us earlier than the suggested 10am and adapted the tour to exactly what we wanted to do.
