Hello, my name is Hubert and Bordeaux is my hometown. I have been an independent tour guide for the last 9 years. I graduated Bordeaux university with two Masters: one in Roman History with a special focus on Bordeaux and its region, and another one in Journalism. I worked as a journalist for 8 years in Paris reporting for a television channel. Thanks to this great experience, I have travelled extensively all over the world and developed a deep appreciation for other cultures. After living in Paris for several years, I decided to go back to my first two loves: Bordeaux and History. I am now a full-time tour guide in Bordeaux, the Bay of Arcachon, and St Emilion. My roots are in Bordeaux and I take great pleasure in sharing this city I love so much. I know each street and alley, each statue, each corner. They all have a story I am eager to tell. My tours are unique and customized to the needs and interests of my audience. It is really important to me that you feel comfortable and engaged. Overview of your Bordeaux tour
Join me on a 3-hour discovery tour of Bordeaux, the city close to my heart, where I was born and grew up. You will discover the Bordeaux of the Middle Ages with its majestic doors: the Big Bell and the Gate Cailhau and of course the Cathedral St Andrew. You will learn about the Bordeaux of the 18th century, that Paris tried to imitate during the 100 years: Its Grand Theater, its Place de la Bourse, the alignment of its facade maritime. You will hear about all the key historical moments during our tour. As I am a native guide, I will also show you some of the hidden jewels tucked into the nooks and crannies of the city: the church turned into a cinema or the plant wall. On the way, you will taste traditionnal sweet pastries of Bordeaux : the cannelé, yummy !!

A Wonderful Introduction to Bordeaux with Hubert This was our first visit to Bordeaux, and we were very fortunate to have Hubert as our guide. From the start, it was clear that he knew the city exceptionally well. His knowledge of Bordeaux’s history, architecture, and culture gave us a real appreciation for the city especially its beautiful old town and medieval streets. During the tour, Hubert took us to the city’s essential sights, including the cathedral, the Grosse Cloche, Porte Cailhau, Place de la Bourse, and the Miroir d’Eau. He shared plenty of interesting historical details along the way without ever making the tour feel like a lecture. It felt more like exploring the city with a very knowledgeable local who genuinely enjoyed sharing his hometown with us. We were amazed by how much we managed to see in such a short time. By the end of the tour, we felt that Hubert had given us an excellent overview of Bordeaux and helped us understand the history behind the beautiful places we were seeing. Hubert was also very patient and accommodating whenever we wanted to stop for photos (which happened quite often) as Bordeaux has so many lovely spots! He happily took pictures of us throughout the tour giving us some wonderful memories of our first visit. We really enjoyed our time with Hubert and would highly recommend him especially to anyone visiting Bordeaux for the first time. His tour was the perfect introduction to this amazing and beautiful city.
