Experience a captivating walking tour that brings Bordeaux's history to life ! Stroll from one iconic monument to another, guided by passionate commentary, fascinating anecdotes, and a multidisciplinary perspective. High-quality printed images to enhance your view (remote architecture details and more). Starting by the Pey Berland Square will allow you to discover the Palais Rohan, a former archbishop’s palace that became the town hall, but also, the Cathedral and its bell tower. On our way to picturesque old streets, I will show you Saint Paul’s Church and make you aware of its Baroque style. The Saint James Street will lead us to the awe-inspiring medieval belfry : la Grosse Cloche! Through the old town, we will reach the glorious Place de la Bourse, a Royal Square of the XVIIIth century known as the postcard emblem of Bordeaux. The grand finale will be the Grand Théâtre, a renowned architecture that inspired the Opéra Garnier in Paris, under the gaze of the Muses that crown the edifice.
By order of visit : - Palais Rohan (façade and statues, exterior) - Saint Andrew's Cathedral (north portal, exterior) - Pey Berland Tower (exterior) - Saint Paul's Church (exterior façade, quick stroll inside if open) - Saint James Street - Picturesque old streets - Grosse Cloche (exterior) - Porte Cailhau (exterior) - Place de la Bourse - Grand Théâtre (exterior) This order can be inverted on request, if so the meeting point will be the outdoor stairs of the Grand Théâtre (place de la Comédie), under the statue of Clio (Muse of History), the last statue on the right side (facing the monument). Any other customization is possible on request. I can meet you at your hotel or apartment in downtown Bordeaux.

I recommend that you bring comfortable shoes, a raincoat or an umbrella (depending on the weather). Binoculars can help to better see remote architecture details.
