Hello, My name is Berit and I'm an experienced and passionate wine guide. I would be absolutely thrilled to share some of the highlights of my amazing region and help bringing the somewhat complicated Bordeaux wine industry "down to earth" so that, when you leave Bordeaux, you'll know which of the Bordeaux districts to look out for. Find out what it is that YOU like. And in the process, visit some of our beautiful, historical chateaux. . . In 2000, my family and I moved from Paris to Bordeaux, right in the core of the famous wine district. I started my time in Bordeaux as an English teacher in Public Education, which reflects my natural inclination for adapting and sharing knowledge. Meanwhile, most of my free time was spent on wine school and tastings! What an adventure! Wine very quickly became my passion. I knew that I had to work with wine - one way or another. I soon got a job in one of the prestigious wineries in Bordeaux and loved it from day one. Best job ever! There's so much going on in the local wine region, and I found the need to work in several chateaux before I felt like a Bordeaux wine expert. This experience lead to my current inspiring job as a local wine guide, that allows me to combine a number of my favourite things: communication, encounters, languages, wine. . . Nothing is more rewarding than to offer my clients an unforgettable and personal experience in Bordeaux. All you need is to give me your priorities and wishes before I start planning. EVERY tour is tailor-made. I'm really looking forward to hearing from you… - Wine and Spirit Education Trust - WSET 3 - Ecole du Vin, CIVB (Bordeaux Wine School): practical and technical certificates - First Aid Certificate (Red Cross) - Business and Life Coach, Mediation (Paris) I am a wine guide. Although I know a lot about local history, I will not be able to guide you inside of the historical monuments with in-depth knowledge.

The Graves wine district encompasses the smaller, extremely unique appellation called "Pessac-Léognan" and goes all the way down to the no less incredible "Sauternes". Pessac-Léognan produces beautiful red and dry white wines. The dry whites are to die for! From a historical point of view, this is where the first vines were planted in Bordeaux some 2000 years ago, so a tour here could unveil chateaux dating back to the 12th century … I personally, worked in a chateau from the 13th century here, and I like to share that insider view with you (e. g. chat with the owners when they're around). Sauternes is home to the world-famous Chateau d'Yquem. Noble rot attacks the grapes concentrating sugar and aromas. Delicious, golden, sweet white wines are produced here with a wide array of flavours and a refreshing level of acidity. You can simply lean back and enjoy the beautiful scenery, the enchanting architecture and taste some great wines. And ask me as many questions as you like! You're in my world for a day.
The below programme is an example of what we can do on a full day tour (includes encounters with real people working in the chateaux, my hand-selected best wineries and lunch restaurant, tastings of great food and wine, lots of good fun. . . ): • 09:00am: Pick-up at your hotel or any other place in Bordeaux city of your convenience Commented drive through parts of Bordeaux City and on the way down to the Graves appellation (history, culture & wine) • 10:00am: Tour and Tasting (red and white wine) in a Grand Cru Classé Chateau in Pessac-Léognan • 12:00: Lunch in a selected restaurant or in a chateau (as you wish) Fresh produce, great wines by the bottle or by the glass, charming atmosphere… • 02:30pm: Tour and Tasting (red and white wine) in a Chateau in the Graves district OR in the Sauternes district if you are huge fans of sweet white wines • 04:00pm: Tour and Tasting in a Grand Cru Classé Chateau in Sauternes (can be replaced if you don't like sweet wines) • 06:00pm: Drop-off in Bordeaux city.
