Join me to visit the fabulous wine region of Bordeaux and gain a deep understanding of the region's famous appellations from the soils, to the making of wine, the different vintages and the often confusing classification systems. Over ten years of experience in the wine tours business, I am a qualified Wine and Spirit tasting professional and have trained during my internship at Chateau Latour! I generally would advise visiting three châteaux per day of course the well-known impressive classified ones known throughout the world but also smaller family owned and run châteaux. I am a real 'people's person' and my approach as a guide enables me to share my passion and knowledge about wine and the Bordeaux vineyards in a professional yet friendly way, the aim being to make sure my clients leave with an unforgettable experience! I love nature and the Bordeaux area offers a wide range of beautiful spots where I enjoy walking, cycling, swimming in the ocean, even scuba diving! As a serious 'foodie' I will also enjoy helping you discover the best selection of delicious local dishes including some of the 1200 different types of French cheeses (not for the faint hearted!) and advise you on how to best match wine & food! A relaxed tour of St Emilion's vineyards by myself an expert wine guide that includes a visit and tasting of a Grand Cru Classé Château, a gentle stroll through the 8th century medieval village known throughout the world, a drive through the beautiful vineyards to show you the famous châteaux (such as Ausone, Cheval Blanc and Petrus in Pomerol) followed by a relaxed château lunch set in the vineyards of a secluded valley next to St Emilion. Emannuelle is absolutely amazing- she is the perfect guide for a tour in Bordeaux. She worked with us to tailor a day that included some tastings we had already booked but also she had a ton of fun suggestions and we ended up visiting a few small local vineyards that we never would have known about, and they were the highlight of our time in Bordeaux. What a perfect way to experience St Émilion! Emmanuelle took us to Château Taillefer in Pomerol and Château Franc-Mayne in St Émilion. We had a wonderful rooftop lunch overlooking the vineyards of St Émilion. At Château Franc-Mayne we had the opportunity to see the underground passages left from the limestone quarries and hear a bit about this region's interesting history. Emmanuelle is an insightful guide and went out of her way to make our day a memorable experience. I can recommend this tour to anyone.
Emmanuelle was excellent. On time and far surpassed expectations. She is very very wine knowledgeable and knows the owners of multiple St. Emilion and Pomerol chateaus. She put us all day at the right time and right place. She is a jewel. We will use her again when we come back. Extremely personable.
