History of Bordeaux wines - 2h Private Walking Tour

Welcome to Bordeaux, one of the world's capitals of wine! After visiting its medieval city centre and its 18th century district, follow the Garonne river to end in the Chartrons and focus even more on wines. Created in the 17th century, the Chartrons district is now considered as the 'Wine capital into the wine capital'. There, you may find many traces of the wine industry as it is where many wine merchants used to live and deal wines with Northern Europe. Today, the district is also well-known for antics and you will find many antic shops, cafes and food places to enjoy the Bordeaux way of life. During this tour, we will focus on the main street of the Chartrons, Rue Notre-Dame! I will tell you about the history of Bordeaux and the Chartrons and show you some hidden places. We will also walk along the Garonne River to imagine how busy the quays used to be back in the days.
