Bonjour! My name is Caroline. I was born and raised in the north of France, between Paris and Normandy. Then I moved to study in Nancy, north-west. I discovered vineyards and wine by doing the harvest in Champagne when I was a student. I really enjoyed this environment and atmosphere and that is why I arrived in Bordeaux in 2015! First, it was only for a two-week stay to pick up the grapes in Saint-Emilion. I finally fell in love with the area and decided to stay. Having passed a Bachelor in English Language and Culture + Cultural Tourism, I found a job as a tour guide in Saint-Emilion the year after. I worked there for 3 years, and kept discovering a lot about the area and wines. Then I decided to become an official tour guide, passed the degree to get the license, and settled closer to Bordeaux city. Now, I live just outside of Bordeaux, between the city centre and the closest vineyards of Pessac-Léognan. I enjoy being able to cycle to the historic and dynamic city centre and enjoy the surrounding nature at the same time. I am passionate about gastronomy and wine, but also about history, cinema, literature and sports. I would be more than happy to take you on one of my food, historic or wine tours in or around Bordeaux. I guide in English and French and try to work on my Spanish skills. I can do walking and bike tours in town, with or without tastings, and also wine tours all around Bordeaux (it is also possible to meet directly in the vineyards or in Saint-Emilion). Feel free to reach out to me for more details or to set up a tailor-made tour. Licensed Tour Guide WSET 3 For my tours I have no restrictions

Welcome to Bordeaux, one of the world's capitals of wine! After visiting its medieval city centre and its 18th century district, follow the Garonne river to end in the Chartrons and focus even more on wines. Created in the 17th century, the Chartrons district is now considered as the 'Wine capital into the wine capital'. There, you may find many traces of the wine industry as it is where many wine merchants used to live and deal wines with Northern Europe. Today, the district is also well-known for antics and you will find many antic shops, cafes and food places to enjoy the Bordeaux way of life. During this tour, we will focus on the main street of the Chartrons, Rue Notre-Dame! I will tell you about the history of Bordeaux and the Chartrons and show you some hidden places. We will also walk along the Garonne River to imagine how busy the quays used to be back in the days. If you want to discover more about Bordeaux wines, I can also arrange a wine tasting for you during or at the end of the tour.
Meet in the Chartrons district. (Suggestion: In front of the 'Bourse Maritime', 1 Place Lainé. ) What we will see: - Rue Notre-Dame - Eglise Saint-Louis - Village Notre-Dame - Place des Chartrons - Quays Optional: Wine tasting End of the tour by the quays
