Hello, my name is Hubert and Bordeaux is my hometown. I have been an independent tour guide for the last 9 years. I graduated Bordeaux university with two Masters: one in Roman History with a special focus on Bordeaux and its region, and another one in Journalism. I worked as a journalist for 8 years in Paris reporting for a television channel. Thanks to this great experience, I have travelled extensively all over the world and developed a deep appreciation for other cultures. After living in Paris for several years, I decided to go back to my first two loves: Bordeaux and History. I am now a full-time tour guide in Bordeaux, the Bay of Arcachon, and St Emilion. My roots are in Bordeaux and I take great pleasure in sharing this city I love so much. I know each street and alley, each statue, each corner. They all have a story I am eager to tell. My tours are unique and customized to the needs and interests of my audience. It is really important to me that you feel comfortable and engaged. I am energetic and bring my stories to life by communicating my passion. I like making connections between Bordeaux, the French history, and the country of my guests. And I always do so with humor. My one and only goal is to offer a unique and unforgettable experience. My deepest joy is to hear my guests at the end of a tour saying « I have fallen in love with your city ». And I promise you will ! Official guide card Master's degree in journalism Master's degree in Bordeaux Roman History Wine set level 2

Join a historian and dive into the study of the slave trade as it once happened in Bordeaux. In the XVIII century Bordeaux was the second most populated city in France and the largest port in the country. Most of its wealth originated from the trade of wine and enslaved people. Ships leaving the port of Bordeaux deported 150, 000 men and women from Africa to America. That story remained untold until recently. On this guided tour, we will discuss the human cost of the slave trade, its economic consequences, and its connection to the abolitionist movements. We will also uncover the visible marks the slave trade left behind as we walk the city streets. * If you need transportation I can provide it
We will pass by Place de la Bourse - Grand Theatre - Monument des Girondins - Statue of Modeste testas - Memorial Slave trade
