Colchagua Wine Route

Chile recognizes five distinct wine regions. By far the most important of these, in terms of quality and quantity is the región of Colchagua which is located at 160 KM from Santiago. The phrase Ruta del vino (wine route) refers to a region where you can tour various vineyards in two or three days. This full day program includes two winery visits during the day. One in Apalta valley, a renown sub-región within Colchagua where many international red winners have been awarded in the last few years. A second visit is scheduled after having lunch into another vineyard state close to Santa Cruz. Colchagua is the most traditional región of Chile from local "huaso" or ranger to manoir style constructions still found there to testify the roots of Chilean Aristocracy dating back to colonial times. Whether you are a wine lover or knowledgeable people this tour is a perfect experience to anybody who wants to get deeper into the fantasy of Chilean wine.

- It starts as early as 08:00 from Santiago and drive Panamerican highway up to San Fernando then it detours to the west coast road Santa Cruz. - First winery visit by 10:30 until 12:00 - Then find a place for lunch and second visit in the afternoon. - Drive back to Santiago ending by 7 or 8 pm The itinerary can be customized according to your preferences and interests.
